My Life Is Different

Chapter Thirty-Five

Positive thinking leads to a positive attitude. When I first woke up I thought this day was going to be the worst day ever and as we're driving home I realized that I had a negative outlook on today but since we won Maria all I could think of is positive things.

Maria is a wonderful addition to the family and maybe one day she'll have a younger brother or sister.

Jake pulled into the drive way and I couldn't be more eager to see Maria then what I am now. Without putting the car in park I opened my door and ran inside the house,

"Maria!" I yelled

My sister and brother came over,

"So what's going on?" they asked in unison

I tried to hide my smile but couldn't,

"Congratulations!!" my sister squealed

I heard my daughter come down the steps she ran over to me,

"What's up?"

I kneeled down and made eye contact with her

"well your dad, uncle and I went to court today to see if we could keep you forever and guess what?"

She just looked at me puzzled

"Welcome to the family Maria Thomas Miller"

She hugged me and I couldn't help but cry from happiness she is now apart of our family. The door opened and Jake walked through she ran over to him. I went up into my room and changed.

I'm wearing black sweatpants and a white t-shirt I put my hair up in a high pony tail my door opened and Maria ran in wearing pink sweat pants and a black t-shirt,

"I'm tired" she said

"Well you can sleep on the way to Miami"

I ran my fingers through her hair and smiled,

"I'm glad we were able to get you"

She placed my hand on her cheek "me too"

A tear fell from my face but I wiped it away she stood in front of me and I put her hair in a pony tail like mine we took a picture together,

"Now" a voice said

we both turned around and saw Jake in gray sweatpants and a black t-shirt somehow we ended up matching

"How is it that you look ten times more beautiful?" He came over and stood behind us then picked up Maria "and I'm going to need to get more security to protect my little girl"

She giggled,

"We got Baylor" I smiled seeing my puppy sleeping on the bed. I heard my dad hollering for us,

"Guess it's time to go" I smiled

"Touring together for the first time" Jake said while looking at me then Maria "as a family"

I smiled and we left with Baylor following.

Day one out of ninety on the tour bus. Dad got a customized bus so that we all could get on it and have enough room. This bus has sections: the drivers section, the front where the adults hang out and where we hold meetings, the living room where we watch tv and play games where the teens basically hang, the kitchen where we'll be hosting Ustreams and eating, then bunks beds where everyone will sleep except for Jake, Maria and I we get the back bedroom where we have a tv and enough closet space for us.

Baylor and Ruby are in the kitchen sleeping it's ten so it's late,

"So why are you two coming?" I joked with my siblings

"We have nothing better to do with our lives" my brother laughed

I rolled my eyes then looked back at Jake and Maria in the bed he's up but she isn't then back at my siblings,

"You ready to be back on stage?" my brother asked

"Yeah" I exhaled "believe it or not but I missed it"

"So where we heading?" my sister asked

"Miami dad got us a hotel by the beach Four Seasons Hotel I think that's the name"

"Yes!" my sister squealed "gonna get my tan on!"

I shushed her "Maria's sleeping"

she nodded "she is but Jake isn't"

"I know" I replied "he's waiting on me"

"Why?" my brother seethed

"Calm down its just he won't go to sleep unless I'm there it's a comfort thing"

"Yeah so can you hurry up" Jake laughed

He came out wearing what he left in he sat beside me,

"I'll be there in a minute"

He kissed me. We continued to talk about what your is going to be like and what songs we're going to sing,

"So when Jake gets-"

My sister was interrupted by crying Jake got up and went into the bed room,

"What's wrong?" my brother asked

I heard a faint voice

"Maria's up" I said

"Mommy mode on" my sister laughed
I smiled at her comment "I'm a mom now" my smile grew. I went back into the room and saw Maria laying down close to Jake holding her bear closely,

"She ok?" I whispered

"Bad dream"

I nodded then looked back at her,

"She's ours now" I smiled

"I have a daughter...I'm a father" he said in shock

"Problem?"

He shook his head "Nope...just think one day she'll have a little brother or sister" he smirked at me

"One day" I smiled

I looked at them in the bed

"What?" Jake asked

"I guess there's no room for a third" I joked

I started to leave the room

"Get back here and lay in this bed"

I smiled and laid beside Maria while Jake wrapped his leg around mine and wrapped his arm around Maria and I,

"This is perfectly perfect" he said

I nodded and then my eyes started getting heavy,

"Goodnight my Queen"

"Goodnight my King"

I smiled and fell asleep.
