My Life Is Different

Chapter Twenty-One

It's the next morning. I'm laying in the bed watching tv while wiping away stray tears. All I could think about was what happened last night and those harsh words Jake told me "then we should just break up" a tear ran down the side of my face "I can have any girl I want I don't know why I picked you" was I just an option for him?. I turned on the tv and saw TMZ they showed pictures of Oliver and I on the beach we are just talking Steve came on,

"It looks like Payton is getting pretty comfy with him maybe she's done with Jake"

I scoffed and turned off the tv. I got on twitter,

@RyRy92: Payton Miller should really put herself in Jakes shoes at times if that was him with a girl she wouldn't like it and I'm pretty sure Jake didn't like it

@PodFord: Payton has the best guy in the world why does she want to ruin that?

@Workaholicer: I think Jake and Payton should break up she's no good for him all she does is hurt him

@PaytonMiller: Think people should stay out of our relationship it's between him and I

I locked my phone. I got up and got in the shower. I wore jeans and a red shirt I really didn't feel like dressing up I put on some make up then blow dried and curled my hair. I walked back into the room and saw Bethany sitting on the bed she softly smiled at me I guess she knows what happened last night,

"How'd you sleep?"

"Not so good" I sat beside her "I know he said it out of anger...so why does it hurt so much?"

A lump formed in my throat and tears fell onto my cheeks

"Because you love him if Jason ever looked at me and told me that the wedding was off and that we were over I would be the same if not worse"

"He acts like I don't love him even though I tell him all the time"

"Actions speak louder than words sweetheart"

I looked at her,

"Payton! someone is here to see you!" I heard my dad yell

I got up and walked out of the room.

I'm walking down the steps with Bethany following when a familiar face caught my eye. I ran down the rest of the way and into the arms of my old friend he picked me up and spun me around,

"Looks like someone remembers you Ashton" my dad laughed

As soon as he said his name memories came back. I remember how he taught me to square dance in the barn when we were little and how we always went horseback riding he sat me down,

"How could I forget my country boy"

I looked at him and he smiled that dazzling smile I loved he always loved me calling him that. I ran my hand through his soft brown hair and his crystal blue eyes looked into mine he looks just like he did when he was younger,

"Gosh Pay" he said bringing out that southern drawl I love so much "it's been forever how old are you now? twenty? twenty-one?"

I laughed "I'm only eighteen Ash"

"You're still a baby"

"Not my fault you're three years older than me" I laughed "What are you doing here?"

"My mom had to meet a friend so I decided to come visit you"

"How'd you find out where I lived"

"I told him" my dad said

Ashton and I went into the living room.

I'm sitting on the couch beside him,

"So boo bear"
