My Life Is Different

Chapter Twenty-Eight

-Payton's P.O.V-

I woke up the next morning sweaty and sore. I got out of the bed and my bare feet made contact with the cold hardwood floor I shivered and quickly put them back on the bed. I saw my black furry slippers at the base of the bed. Once I put them on I got out of bed and quietly went into where Jake is sleeping and grabbed his black sweatpants and hoodie with his name on it from his drawer then went back into my room and grabbed my under clothes then went to the bathroom. As I undressed I noticed claw marks on my skin and a scratch on the side of my face. I ran a hot bath with extra bubbles. I stepped in and it felt so nice I sat in the bath and as it hit the marks it stung but then felt good. A hot bath always feels good though. After I took a bath I washed my hair, so much dirt came out from it I was disgusted. I got dressed in the clothes then put on lotion because a girl gets ashy. I ran a brush through my hair and sprayed detangler in it and let it air dry. I put the slippers back on and left the bathroom.

I made my way to the steps and as I made my way down I noticed a furry body laying at the base of the steps. Dry blood is in his fur and his bandana is torn "What happened last night?" the only thing I remeber is walking in the fields with Baylor and Angel. I went down one more step my puppy's eyes are closed, "Baylor?" I cried his head came up and I did a much needed exhale. I ran down the rest of the steps and gently hugged him, "Come on" I sniffled "Lets get you cleaned up" his tail slowly wagged. I carefully picked him up and took him to the bathroom. After I put a red bandana on him we went back down the steps and out the front door, "Alright" I said looking at Baylor "Lets go visit Angel" it looked as if he was smiling. We went to the stable and saw Angel in her stall sleeping, "We can take Trooper" I laughed once she heard me she immediatly woke up and I smiled "Alright let me get your stuff" I turned around and immediately ran into someone and fell to the floor,

"I'm sorry I just...Payton?!"

I rubbed the back of my head "Who wants to know?" I groaned

I managed to get up and looked at her, she's a little taller than me and she has brown hair with black highlights and she's wearing a blue sundress,

"Don't you remember me?"

I looked at her face she has a cheeky smile and freckles on her cheeks. I looked at the girl confused,

"It's me Darla!" she cheered

Oh! now I remeber her. I faked a smile she always had to be better than me I got a horse she got two she hates me and I hate her there is no love between us at all,

"How have you been?" I asked

"I've been wonderful I'm engaged to a wonderful man"

I looked at her and there is no ring on her finger

"Where's your ring?" I questioned

"He's having it customized"

I huffed and rolled my eyes

"Still single I assume...but it's ok I'm sure the garbage man will pick you up sooner or later or maybe never"

If she only knew.

"Payton?! Payton where are you?"

I knew that voice all to well

"Who is that?" she asked

"My boyfriend" I smirked "I'm in the stable!"

I looked at the entrance and saw Jake with a smile on his face. He's wearing grey sweat pants and a white t-shirt he ran over to me and wrapped me in his arms he started crying,

"Jay why are you crying?"

"I thought I lost you please don't ever run away without telling someone please! I can't afford to lose someone who means the entire world to me"
