Haunted

Virgil POV

  Logan walked into my room with a strange looking mirror. "Why do you have that mirror?" "I'll explain another time, just don't look into in." "Ok but why do I have to do it?" "Well, you know Roman can't resist looking in a mirror, even if he has like 6 already, and Patton wouldn't listen to me anyway." "Fair points."

  Then Logan left, with the mirror in the far corner of my room. There were a few times I looked at the white sheet covering the mirror, just in case I walked by it by accident, and wondered why I shouldn't look. I have to admit I was tempted to look but I resisted.

  Later that night while I was sitting in my room watching YouTube I heard a tapping noise coming from somewhere. I got out my bed and looked around my room. I thought I had checked everything but then I realized the one thing I didn't check was the...mirror.

   I finally built up enough courage to take a corner of the sheet off of the mirror. I didn't see anything strange so I took off a little more. I did this until the whole sheet was off the mirror. I was standing to the side so I wasn't looking directly at my reflection. I quickly stood in front of the mirror hoping to see something but then I couldn't move. I saw a dark figure tapping on the glass smiling creepily. All of a sudden it lunged at me and I fell to the ground.

Roman POV

   I heard a loud bang from Virgil's room. So I ran to Virgil's room to see if he was ok. I saw Virgil sitting on the side of his bed with his head down. "V-Virgil?" Virgil lifted his head to look at me. "Oh hello there Roman." He said creepily. "Is everything ok?" "Everything's just fine. Have a nice day." Virgil said still smiling and waving. I slowly backed out of his room slightly freaked out.

The Next Day

   I saw Virgil in the hallway. "H-hi." I said nervously. "What do you want?" "Oh umm nothing." "Whatever." Well at least he's himself.

Later That day

  I was walking by Virgil's room and heard him talking but no one else was there. I opened the door a little, just enough to see Virgil. He was twitching and smiling then frowning. He looked like he was in pain but he was smiling. "What is going on with him?" I whispered to myself. I opened the door all the way. "Virgil? Are you ok? You've been acting strange lately." Virgil snapped back to reality. "Oh umm Roman! Hi!" "Are you ok?" "Uh yeah I'm fine." "Are you sure? You were freaking out just a little while ago." "I don't know what you're talking about Roman."

Even Later That Day

  "Logan, I'm telling you something is wrong with him!" "It's probably just one of his anxiety attacks Roman." "That is not an anxiety attack Logan! That is something odd, something unnatural!" "Ugh fine we can go ask him questions." "Really? Thank you so much Logan!" "Calm down Roman."

3rd Person POV

  Logan and Roman entered Virgil's room. Virgil had his headphones on and didn't hear them come in. "Ahem." Logan said loudly. Virgil got scared and fell off his bed. This caused Patton to run to Virgil's room to see what the noise was. "Great the whole gang's here now." Virgil said getting up off the ground, rubbing his head. Logan noticed the uncovered mirror in the corner. "Virgil did you look in the mirror!?" "Yeah...but nothing happened." Then Virgil started twitching and fell to the floor screaming in pain. The others surrounded him. Then he just stopped. He laid there unconscious, not even breathing.

   Virgil then sat up and smiled. Virgil started mumbling something, then it got louder. "'Non prohibere me potes. Ego ut in hoc corpore. Custodiet te patiatur." It turned into screaming until he passed out. "What's wrong with Virgil?" Patton asked scared. "We don't know Patton." Logan said.

It was an hour until Virgil woke up. Everyone was gathered around his bed worried about him. His eyes opened slowly and his head was killing him. Virgil sat up, cringing in pain. "Ugh...what happened?" Everyone looked up at Virgil. Roman explained everything and why they were there. "I did all that?" Virgil said still holding his head because of his headache. "Yeah then we carried you to your bed." Roman said. "We thought you died!" Patton yelled almost crying. "No! No we didn't." Logan said trying to calm Patton down.

  "So about that 'weird talk' what did I say?" Virgil asked concerned. "Well," Logan interrupted, "it roughly translated to and I quote, 'You can't stop me. I will take over this body. You will watch him suffer.' It was Latin." Logan explained. Virgil sat on his bed looking at Logan horrified. He was shaking. Patton and Roman hugged and comforted him. "S-sorry. You wanted to know so I told you. The truth about the mirror is it has an evil spirit in it. Or it did." Logan said whispering the last part.  "Logan, what do you mean did?"

  "Virgil you're possessed by an evil spirit." Logan spat out. "Why do you even have that!?" Virgil asked. "It was in the attic." "So why did you give it to me?" "I needed to get it out of the mirror and it creeped me out. Plus who knows what would've happened if the only person, me, who knew how to get rid of it got possessed?" "So you would rather have us get possessed!?" Virgil said disgusted. "Look I gave it to you knowing you were the more responsible than these two!" "Hey!" Roman and Patton yelled. "But apparently you couldn't even do that!" "Ok! That is enough!" Patton said annoyed. "Well how do we get it out of me?" Virgil asks mad. "A romantic gesture of course!" Roman said loudly. "Wha-" Virgil said confused. "Roman that's ridiculous." Logan said. "Then what do we do?" Patton said worried. The three started arguing about how to cure Virgil. Virgil's vision blurred as he fell back onto his bed. "Are you ok?" Patton asked very worried. "Y-yeah I'm fINE!" But Virgil wasn't fine. Virgil fell off the bed writhing in pain. "Owww! Ahhh! Gahhhh!" "Virgil!" They all screamed. He let out one last scream before going quiet.

  Just then Virgil sat up breathing heavily.  "What happened?" Virgil yelled. "Y-you passed out. Just a s-second ago." Patton stammered. "R-really? It seemed like forever." Just then Virgil doubled over in pain and a dark figure appeared behind him before it vanished. They all looked around the room except Virgil who was still on the ground. Patton looked in the direction of the still uncovered mirror. Patton saw the figure and fell into a trance. Logan looked over just in time to see Patton. He grabbed Patton out of view of the mirror. "T-thanks." Patton said. Logan leaped up and covered the mirror. "Your welcome."

Virgil was on the floor laughing maniacally. Roman was crouched next to him shaking him and yelling. "Virgil snap out of it! Get out of him you demon!" "Roman stop! Get away from him we don't know what he might do!" Virgil summoned a knife. "Roman! Move!" Roman didn't realize in time. Virgil was just about to stab him when, he stopped. Virgil looked at Roman and started crying. "What am I doing?" He whispered. He got up and backed away from the three. "I have to leave. I'm going to hurt you guys." Virgil was just about to run but Logan grabbed his arm. "This shield is my power to protect against evil. This shield keeps out harm. This shield does not allow demons or negative entities to pass through it. This shield is my domain and I alone determine what is allowed to pass. No dark entities shall pass through this shield. "Logan what did you do?!" "I recited an anti-demon chant. He will be fine. In a few minutes...to a few weeks." "Weeks!" Roman yelled. "Don't worry that's only in extreme cases. I would say he had a minor to mild case."

Virgil woke up 15 minutes later surrounded by worried faces. "Are you ok?" "Virgil are you alright?" "Virgil!" "Do you need anything?" Virgil was flooded with questions and concerns. "It's good to see you guys too." Virgil said laughing tiredly. They hugged. The three were just glad to have Virgil back.

Bonus Content: Logan said the mirror was void of all evil and it was normal now. Logan said Roman could have the tall mysterious mirror. He set it up in his room. He looked in it everyday. Everything was normal...or was it.
