Prologue

As the flashes continues to brighten the whole place, I smiled gracefully as I answer the questions that are thrown at me by the media.

"This is another milestone for you. We all know that your family is not really into showbiz and the likes but they still support you, right?"

"Yeah, my family's always been so supportive." Sagot ko habang nakangiti, may kasama pang pagtango. I lied.

"Kailan ang susunod mong event? We're excited to hear about it!"

"I heard some rumor about you. You're dating an athlete? Is it true, Miranda?" Umarko ang kanang kilay ko dahil sa tanong na 'yon. Did she really thought that I will answer that? Binalewala ko ang tanong at lumakad palayo sa kanila.

One glance at my manager, she already knew what to do. Mabilis niyang inutusan ang mga bodyguard at naglakad patungo sa akin, tinaboy nila ang mga reporter para makasakay na ako sa aking van.

This day is too stressful for me. Katatapos lang ng isang fundraising event na inorganisa ni Ate at hindi ko inaasahang dudumugin ng media ang pagdadausan na iyon. I searched for my phone and dialed her number.

"It's done," I sighed and massaged my temple. Ang sakit ng ulo ko at mabigat ang aking pakiramdam. Mukhang lalagnatin pa ata ako.

"Pauwi ka na?" Hindi ako sumagot at pumikit na lang. "Hello? Are you tired? If you are, then, I'll hang up now. Kumain ka na at magpahinga na rin. Don't tire yourself too much, Miranda."

"I'm fine, Ate." Huminga ako ng malalim nang magsimulang umandar ang sasakyan.

"Just tell me if you can't handle it anymore. Uuwi agad ako." Napadilat ako at umayos ng pagkakaupo.

"It's okay. I can handle it. Just enjoy there, Ate." Paano siyang uuwi? May trabaho siya roon at ayaw ko ngang umuwi siya! "Ayos lang ako at kaya kong pagsabay-sabayin lahat ng trabaho ko."

"Are you sure? Aren't you busy dating someone?" Napamulagat ako sa sinabi niya. What the fuck was that? Saan niya napulot ang bagay na 'yon?

"Ate, don't be too nosy. I'm not dating anyone!"

"Oh? But it's all over the news. Miranda Marcus, President of Arkifermosa, and a famous model was said to be dating a soccer player."

"Where did you get that? Ate, will you step away from those false news? That's not true and reading someting like that is unhealthy. Let's just stay healthy, shall we?"

"Fine. Oo nga pala! Magpahinga ka na, kumain ka kung hindi ka pa kumakain, ah?"

"Alright, bye bye. Always take care of yourself."

"I will and you should too. Bye bye."

I hung up and rested my head against the window. "What's my schedule for tomorrow, Yannie?"

"Lunch meeting lang po sa tanghali at sa hapon naman ay renewal ng contract sa Zharlia. Libre ka buong umaga." One of my assistants said. I'll visit the company in the morning, then.

"Ang dinner mo, Mira? Hindi ka kumain sa event kanina." Singit ni Pinky, ang manager at kanang kamay ko. Sumama siya sa event para raw may exposure naman siya kahit papaano.

"Just order some takoyaki and sushi. Let's eat on my unit later." Narinig ko ang pagsang-ayon niya.

Yannie is a working student, she's still in college. Dahil summer naman at wala siyang klase ay buong araw siyang nakakasama sa mga lakad ko. Tuwing may pasok siya ay ang schedule ko lang ang inaasikaso niya.
