Chapter 9-- Indirect
"What do you think about the movie?" My manager scanned the paper he was holding, a while ago he was discussing about the plot of this movie offered to me.
I'm too lazy to listen and read the story. I wore eyemask and pretended that I would sleep. "I'll think about it." I stated.
"The director is good, the story is good, your leading woman is good and the Talent fee is hella good. Its a catch, Aeon."
I shrugged. "Tinatamad ako, wala ako sa mood."
"Tsk. You still have two months to rest if you'll accept this, c'mon."
"Pag-iisipan ko." I said.
Mukhang sumuko na yung manager ko, pagabi na rin. I'm tired and I don't want to argue right now. Um-attend pa ako kanina ng presscon para sa launching ng pagiging bagong model ng company nila Rio. Many questions were asked and for the nth time, they asked me again if was here for my ex girlfriend. Nonsense.
Gabing gabi na, were heading to my house but then I feel like I want to roam around. Wala naman na masyadong tao, wala naman sigurong masamang magpahangin.
Tinanggal ko ang eye mask ko at sinuot ang jacket ko. "Dito ako bababa.".
Manager looked at me with opposition. "No way, ano nanaman to Aeon? Baka--"
"Stop being to paranoid. I just want to breathe some fresh air not an airconditioner."
He sighed in defeat. Tinigil nila ang sasakyan sa tapat ng isang grocery store. "Aeon, pagisipan mo yung offer, okay?"
I nodded before I get out of the car. I decided to buy some beer and cigarette. Lumabas na ako ng grocery store and walked my way home. Malapit na lang din naman ang bahay namin dito.
I am enjoying walking by myself in the middle of the night when I noticed ahead a girl surrounded by boys. And at that time, I knew I need to rescue that girl being harrased by those drunk men.
Pinatong ko ang mga pinamili ko sa gilid at patakbong pumunta sa kinaroroonan nila, there are 6 men and here, I'm bringing only myself.
Tinabig ko ang kamay ng lalaki na nakahawak sa braso nung babae. Nagtawanan ang mga lalaking to at tinuro pa ako ng isa. "Aba, miss, mukhang may makikihati pa samin!"
"Aeon?" She surprisedly asked.
"Tangina, pare kami unang nakakita dito--" Hindi ko na napigilan ang sarili kong suntukin ang isa sa kanila nang hawakan nito ang beywang niya.
"Hindi ko alam kung bakit lagi ka na lang sumusulpot kung nasaan ako." Naiiling kong sabi. Tinulungan nung mga kasamahan nung lalaki yung kaibigan nilang napatumba ko.
I know how to fight-- I learned some taekwando and wushu way back but I'm not a superhuman so.. "Takbo na!" Hinigit ko ang kamay ni Irene.
