Chapter 11--Getting Even
I felt the sting on my cheeks when she slapped me. "Aeon, 'wag mo kong paglaruan!"
My jaw clenched as I faced her. And I'm sure that I saw confusion in her eyes that she immediately hide. She sighed. "S-sorry.. nabigla lang ako." She was about to escape from me when I held her arms and pulled her closer to me.
"What's wrong with a friendly date after long time tha past, Irene?" I innocently asked.
Her cheeks turned red but also faded after few seconds. "Uhm--"
"What kind of date were you thinking?"
"Oo na, sige na! Mag-date na tayo!" she ran panicking or rather avoiding my question--leaving me smiling, alone in my room.
That little confusion in her eyes is the small chance that she's still into me--the small chance that can make her fell crazily to me.
"You told me that you moved on but then you're pursuing her. That's hypocrasy, dude." Aidan bite an apple from the fridge.
"It's called getting even." I irritatedly told him.
I thought he likes playing with girls then why is he acting like this? Between the two of us, he's more of the baddass jerk who made women cry. I'm just making her feel what I felt before and I don't see any bad thing about that. Getting even--That's all I wanted. After all that she did to me before? Its unfair. I was wrecked but I gained my strenght to live without her--for better.
"You're planning a revenge on her? Oh c'mon, why can't you just continue your life and find your so called true love again, then live happily ever after. That's a simplier and less worry life to live with. Isn't that a good idea?" He lazily sit at my couch and rest his feet to the small table here in the sala.
"Look who's talking. I think you should be the one taking your own suggestion, dude." I smirked. "And why're your contradicting my plans? I thought playing with girls is your forte?"
"It will cause no good to you. And besides.. Irene is still 'our' friend."
"You're saying that because you didn't experience what i've gone before."
"No, I'm saying this because your acting too much, Aeon."
Well, 'cause those sorrows and pain I felt before are also too much.
I checked my watch. "Time to go, dude." I patted his shoulder.
"Goodluck sa date niyo ng ex mo." He chuckled with a teasing tone.
I'm on my way, driving to our meeting place when I saw Irene walking through the streets. I slowed my driving so that I can follow her. Sinusundan ko lang siya hanggang sa ilang minuto napatingin siya sa side ko. Probably, she can't see me 'cause my car window is tinted. Dumiretso na lang siya sa paglalakad, nang lumiko siya ay niliko ko din ang sasakyan ko. Doon tumigil siya. She faced me with furrowed eyebrows and tightly closed lips.
