The bell finally rang, this time signaling the end of school. The kids dashed down the hall in excitement, although they'd have to return tomorrow, they still held huge grins. Familiar foot steps walk near Clementine as she slips in a headphone, blasting her music in on ear. She looked up secretly hoping to see the familiar dreadhead, only to be disappointed.

"Hey Clementine, I'm Marlon." He said with a grin as he stuck out his hand. Clem shook his hand as she continued to walk, staring straight forward. The taller blonde boy stared at her as they walked together, the slim hallway full of shouting.

"I know, I heard your name a few times today." He chuckled slightly as he stared down at her.

"All good things I hope." Clementine nodded as she stared up.

"Why wouldn't it be?" She was suddenly stopped, a hand grabbing her bag. She almost fell until a part of arms quickly caught her.

"Louis you dumbass, she could've died!" Marlon said sarcastically, Louis quickly ran in front and stared at her worriedly, his cheeks painted slightly red.

"Shit! I'm sorry!" He says making sure she's fine, she smiled slightly as she continued to walk. The two boys on both sides of her.

"If I died I would've sued you." She teased with a cheeky grin, Louis raised a eyebrow at the girl as he stuffed his hands in his pockets.

"How? As you said, you'd be dead." Clementine shrugged as she stared at him then Marlon.

"I guess I'd become a zombie." She quickly rushed forward and put the doors, a huge grin plastered on her face. Suddenly her phone vibrated like crazy in her back pocket, she quickly grabbed her phone and stared at the contact name that read 'mom' she quickly answered the phone and put it to her ear."

"Hey mom, where are you?" She asked cheerfully.

"Hey sweetie, I got called in for work early. Your dad is also at work so you have to walk home, you have that pepper spray right?" Clementine scoffed at the phone, quickly hiding the attitude with a whimper.

"God damn it, yes mom." She groaned, her mother chuckled slightly as Clementine started to walk.

"Sorry, I'll make it up to you later. Be safe!" And with that her mom hung up, Clem kicked a rock as she started the journey home.

Though it wasn't a far walk, it still wasn't something she wanted to do. She went to a nice school in a nice neighborhood, but to get home she had to walk through a sketchy neighborhood. She put in her headphones yet again, trying to ignore the up noxious laughing behind her. Blasting her music and quietly listening to the rhythm as she walked, smiling to herself as she stared up at the trees.

The clouds painted the sky beautifully, reminding her of the angel paintings she had in her room. The trees making it seem like a bob ross painting. She passed many people, they stared but had the decency not to bother her. Many smiled kindly, many had blank expressions, and others glared. She didn't know why she had so many dirty looks, at this point she didn't care.

All she could do was think about finally going home and writing, she never dared to let anyone read her poems. They felt too private to share, they showed her feelings that she couldn't put into words, and how she saw the world. Suddenly her music stopped, making her curse under her breath as she looked at her phone. Suddenly a loud whistle was heard in front of her, she looked up to see a man with different colored eyes and a creepy stare.

"Hey pretty lady. What's a sweet thing like you doing walking alone?" They creepy man asked with a disgusting grin. Clem ignored the man and continued to walk, this time quicker. He grabbed her arm and harshly pulled her to him, his breathing was heavy.

"That was rude! Who taught you manners?" He shouted, Clementine quivered as she tried pulling away. His group only tightening. She suddenly punched the man in the face, knocking him to the floor. He screamed in agony as he grabbed her leg. She tried kicking his hand off but he pulled her towards him, making her stumble and almost hit her head.

"You little bitch!" He started pulling her towards a tree filled area, her screams only heard as she grabbed whatever she could. She whimpered as he chuckled and grabbed her arm.

"When I see people like you, weak and afraid. It only makes me want you more." Suddenly a loud scream was heard, knocking the terrifying man to the ground.

Clementine sat on the floor afraid as she saw a figure punching the man, Louis. His friends quickly pulled Clementine away from the scene as Marlon helped the dread head beat the man. The balding man suddenly pushed the two boys off and tried punching them. Clementine quickly sat up and walked towards the fighting, kicking the man off the boys.

He stared up at the short girl confused as she put her boot on his chest, suddenly she pulled out pepper spray and sprayed the mans eyes. He screamed in agony as she turned towards the group, her breathing heavy as tears pricked her eyes.

"Call the fucking cops." The short haired redhead quickly took out her phone, frantically dialing 911. The taller boy stared boy stared at the brunette as she sat back and sniffled. Many adults now walking out to see the crime scene. Louis crawled over to the smaller girl and sat with her, silence was only heard as the police arrived and quickly took the man away.

Lee and Carly quickly rushing out of the car and running towards their baby, holding her in their arms as she stood there. She didn't speak nor did she whimper. Louis sat there and stared at the girl as the police questioned her, his own parents coming over and checking him for any bruises.

"What happened?" His mother asked with worry. Louis just shrugged and stood up, his knees hurt slightly from tackling the man but he ignored it, he walked towards the small girl with a smirk.

"Bad luck for your first day, huh." He chuckled, she looked up at the boy and shrugged. A small smile forming against her lips as she stared up at him.

"Bad luck is my middle name." She jokes, a tall man walked over, a serious look on his face.

"You're lucky he saved you when he did, that man has been known to do nasty things with women. Luckily someone finally caught him." Clementine crosses her arms as she nodded, what the man had said sent shivers down Louis' spine.

"Well, she's the one that put up a good fight. He probably would've killed us." The man nodded and held a hand out to clem, she shook his hand with a smile.

"Well thank you Clementine, stay safe." She nodded as she held her elbow, she read his name tag and read it with a smirk.

"Thank you officer... Luke." With that he nodded and walked away, everyone's parents rushing to their children and hugging them.

"I promise you no matter how busy, I'll pick you up and drop you off!" Her mother said determined, the red and blue lights fading off and leaving them in the dark. The street lights poorly lighting the road as Louis cleared his throat.

"Actually, me and my friends could walk with her. If you don't mind of course." Her mother smiled and nodded, wrapping her arms around her daughter as her father patted Louis' back.

"Of course we don't mind, take care of her." His deep voice said, he chuckled nervously as everyone walked to their cars.

What happened could've ended in disaster, but it sparked a new trust and friend ship. That friendship could blossom into something more.

I did this scene to show that even though Clementine didn't have to learn how to survive/ be a badass, she can still kick ass lmao.
