Louis woke up first, with Clementine laying in his arms. He couldn't help but grin, she was so beautiful. This has all he's been wanting, to see this gorgeous girl in his grasp. He didn't know what time it was, but he knew it was morning. He brushed a few strands of hair away from her face so he could see her more clearly. He noticed her brows furrow as she frowned, he wondered what she was dreaming about that made her so upset.

Clementine slowly opened her eyes, the small girl was surprised to be face to face with Louis. He wore a soft smile as she sat up and rubbed her eyes.

"Morning." She mumbled, Louis only nodded as he sat on the couch.

The tall boy couldn't deny the pain in his neck, but that didn't matter. He wanted to make sure she was okay. He remembered last night with the icecream and cringed. He had no idea why he did that.

"You should probably head home, you have school in a few hours."

"You can't be alone right now." He whispered, Clementine flashed a quick smile as she forced a small laugh.

He could tell it wasn't sincere. She looked so unhappy. Her hand rested on his as she tilted her head, his eyes glossed over her as she shrugged.

"I'll be home, plus someone has to get me my work." She said quietly, Louis let out a low chuckle as he shook his head. The tall boys dreads moved with him as he stood up.

Clementine couldn't help but look down, why did things have to go so wrong. And as soon as her life was put back together. She felt Louis' eyes stare at her with worry, her posture was slouched as she wore a frown. The girl was deep in thought and he could tell.

"Clementine, be safe. If you need anything.... text me." He whispered, Clementine gave a reassuring nod as she stood up.

Her arms wrapped around his torso as she released a shaky sigh, the girl didn't want to let go. She wanted him to stay with her, she was so worried that he'd somehow get hurt. She couldn't handle the thought of something happening to him, she felt like such a bad luck charm. The small girl was especially worried for her mother. Carly had rushed to the hospital a mess, she felt terrible that her daughter had to see that. She also felt terrible knowing the man she loved was dead.

Louis felt shocked, she was holding him so tight. He felt her release a shaky breath as her head buried into his chest. He held her body closer to his, his arms securely wrapped around the small girls waist. She pulled away slowly, her amber eyes stayed on him as he smirked.

The tall boy reluctantly left her house, he was scared. He didn't want anything to happen to her. He didn't want her to do anything, she was already blaming herself. If she allowed him, he'd take care of her to the best of his ability.

Clementine went upstairs slowly, she didn't want him to go. But he had to keep up his grades, she wanted him to be successful. She already knew she wasn't. Her slouched posture made her back ache slightly, but she didn't care anymore. She was too devastated. She laid on the large bed and released a sigh. Her eyes felt heavy as she closed them, being absorbed by complete darkness.

She laid next to man, her head rested in his lap as they drove down some road. They seemed to be in an RV. Her light curls scattered all around her face as she sat up, Lee looked down at her with a warm grin as she rubbed her eyes.

"Hey sweet pea."

She felt her jaw drop as she looked up at him, tears threatened to spill as she admired every feature. He looked a lot younger. His hair had no grays, he had no wrinkles. All his features looked much softer, it was evident that this was from the passed. She let out a soft gasp as she stared up at him, his soft smile was so reassuring.

"Lee..." She murmured, her small arms wrapped around his neck as she now stood up.

She was so small, her body was so child like. This didn't feel like the present, but the past. She pulled away as Lee wiped her tears, she didn't even realize she was crying.

"Please don't cry."

"I'm so sorry, it's all my fault." She whispered, her messy curls covered her face as she shook her head.

"This isn't your fault... it's no ones fault. I'm so happy you're safe, but you can't dwell on me. You're strong, your mother needs you."

Clementines lips quivered as she stared into his dark eyes. He was right. It all hurt so much, her small hands wiped away her tears as Lee chuckled.

"Louis would hate to see you cry, he thinks the world of you Clementine." He whispered, the way he said Louis' name made her heart drop.

He'd never get to do those weird family things. Where the father and boyfriend meet, where they bond over similar interests. Of course they had talked a few times, but that wasn't enough.

"I can't help it... I miss you."

"I miss you too sweet pea, you'll see me again. Whether it's in your dreams, or one day, one day that's hopefully far away." His deep voice was so soothing, she hugged him again. This time tighter.

Her head laid on his shoulder as she squeezed his body. The man let out a sigh as he hugged her back, she had a warmth. Not just physically but emotionally, she was filled with so much love. He hated leaving his daughter, son, and wife.

"I love you Clementine." He whispered, his voice broke at the end as she nodded.

"I love you too... dad."

He smiled warmly as Clementine laughed, that laugh held no humor. It is as mostly forced. Her smile held no joy, it was a sad smile. Everything faded black as she closed her eyes, and when she woke up she was in her room. The same orange sheets over her body, her brown eyes scanned the room as she grabbed her phone. It had only been a few hours. Carly was probably at work.

She was surprised to see a text from Louis, he was probably at lunch by now. She read the short but sweet message with a wide grin as she giggled.

"Hey there gorgeous, I just wanted to see how you're doing."

"I took a long ass nap and I feel amazing." She typed, Clementine set her phone down on the desk with a sigh.

She wiped away the small tears that remained on her face, she had a pounding headache. She heard her phone vibrate on her desk. 'That was fast.' She thought to herself.

"I'm coming over after school, I want to ask you something."

Clementine furrowed her brows as she felt her heart race. What could he want to ask. The thought honestly scared her, was it good or bad? Clem didn't think she wanted to know. She sent a simple 'Ok' as she set her phone down again. She was too tired to do anything, yet she couldn't fall asleep again.

Maybe she had nothing to worry about.

Was she overreacting?
