Clementine stared at her hands, they held onto her shirt tightly as she released a shaky breath. She didn't want to go. All fear from before was beginning to rise again. She wasn't going to run away this time, that was cowardly. She'd stay and fight for her home. Carly took ahold of the girls hand and smiled gently at her, Clementine could see the tears in her mother's eyes.
"You'll be staying at Kenny and Katjaa's for a while, just until I can work everything out."
Clementines eyes widened, a faint smile painted her lips as she squeezed the woman's hand.
"I...I'm not being taken away?"
Carly only shook her head with a smile. Clementine lunged forward and wrapped her arms around the brunette, making Carly gasp as she almost fell back. Clementine let out a sob, she was relieved. She was relieved that she wasn't being taken away, Clem didn't understand the whole situation, but that didn't matter to her now. She looked at Carly with a wide smile as she sighed.
"I love you mom." She whispered, Carly let out a small chuckle as she grabbed her cup of coffee.
"I love you too Clementine, now go put those bags away. It'll clutter the floor!" She teased. Clementine stood from the table and gathered her things.
The small girl quickly ran up the stairs with a large grin. She had to call Louis. And of course text Duck, thanking him and his family. She ran into her room and shut the door, setting the bags on the ground and laying on her bed. Her hands quickly grabbed her phone, she eyes scanned through the contacts until she found Louis'.
She pressed call and set the phone on her desk, now just waiting for Louis to answer. It only too a few seconds until she saw his face. The boys grin was wide. That was until he saw the tears that stained her cheeks.
"Clementine? What's wrong?" He asked, Louis ran up the stairs quickly. All of his attention laid on Clementine. She looked at him with a soft smile as she shook her head.
"Nothings wrong, I thought it was. But maybe things will be good." She whispered. "I can't stay here anymore, my mom can't really afford this house anyways."
Louis' eyes widened, he thought she was leaving. A large frown spread across his lips as she continued.
"But Ducks family is letting me and Aj stay at theirs! That is until everything is fixed." She whispered with a giggle.
Louis smiled lovingly at his girlfriend. She was happy. He wished he'd be the one giving her a place to stay, he'd love to wake up every morning with her in his arms. He imagined that as he stared at her, it would be a literal dream come true.
"Come over to mine?" She asked, her voice was a bit more demanding.
He let out a small chuckle as he nodded his head, the boys dreads moved with him. Louis sat at his desk, he was admiring her. Everything about that girl was absolutely perfect. Clementine rolled her eyes at him as she sighed.
"Come over now you dork."
"Yes ma'am!" He said loudly, jumping out of his chair and bringing his phone with him.
Clementine laughed at his silliness. His wide smile was something she adored. He ran down the stairs and passed his parents. She couldn't hear much besides the sound of their tv. Louis walked outside, the sun was still out.
It shined over his freckled skin as she stared in awe. The dread head quickly walked down the sidewalk, his phone in hand. The boys eyes trailed down to see her staring, he gave her a cheeky wink as he continued walking.
"Like what you see?"
"Wow." She scoffed, Louis let out a deep chuckle as he sighed.
"Don't worry, I'm about to knock on your door." He whispered. Clementine quickly hung up the phone, making Louis frown as he reached her porch. Before the tall boy could even knock, the door was wide open.
His eyes widened as he felt a soft pair of lips on his. Louis wrapped his arms around her waist, he slowly sank into the kiss with a small smile. His hands held the girls cheek as he gazed into her eyes.
"You could barely be without me for fifteen minutes." He teased.
Clementine rolled her eyes again as she slapped his hand away. Louis followed her inside, being greeted by Carly's presence. He pulled Clementine towards his body, whispering into her ear with a smirk.
"Oh my god." She whispered, her eyes were wide as she blushed. Louis let out a laugh as he waved at the woman, Clem's mother shook her head with a smile.
Clementine quickly pulled him away and up the stairs. Her movement was fast as he almost fell. He quickly caught his fall by holding onto the railing, his free hand gripped her waist protectively.
"You can't walk?" She asked with a smirk, Louis only scoffed as he stood up straight.
"I'm great at walking, you're just jealous." He hissed dramatically, Clementine gently nudged his shoulder with a giggle. Her laugh was so beautiful.
As the two of them finally made it to her room, Clementine laid on her bed lazily. Louis laid beside her, his arms wrapped around her torso as he tucked his face into her neck. The small girl squirmed slightly at the ticklish feeling, her smile only widened upon feeling him smile. Clementine turned in his arms, her face was an inch away from his as she furrowed her brows.
Her small hands traced his freckles. The girls touch was so gentle. The pad of her finger traced each freckle gently, Louis' hand cupped her cheek, making her stop all movement. His eyes stared into hers as he prepared to say something. It had just been on his mind for so long.
"I love you, a lot." He started.
"When you left I was absolutely devastated, a wreck. I cried a lot which is embarrassing, but I shouldn't have tried distracting myself." He admitted, a faint hue of red appeared as he continued.
"Having you here with me, in small moments like this, it makes all the shit from before not matter to me."
Clementine only listened, her small hands held onto his tightly, showing her support as he spoke.
"I know it sounds stupid, but I thought I'd admit it." He whispered. Louis let out an awkward laugh as Clementine said nothing. Her soft hands held onto his tightly as she buried her head into his neck.
"Louis you know all that doesn't matter now, I love you too. I feel the exact same way." She whispered, Louis released a hum as he nodded.
"I know, I just feel guilty." He said quietly, Clementine lifted her head up as she held his cheek.
"What do I have to do for you to forgive yourself?" She asked, Louis smirked as he raised a brow.
"I mean... a kiss wouldn't hurt." He teased.
Clementine lifted her head and kissed his lips gently, her eyes fluttered shut as he held the back of her neck. As she pulled away, Louis held a proud grin. Clementine rolled her eyes at his silly behavior as she grabbed her laptop.
"Put on something good." She whispered, cuddling close to his chest. Louis shook his head as he began typing.
"I always do."
