Chapter 42: Unhappy reunion

Clementine held onto the front doors handle, Marlon had drove the petite girl back home. Tomorrow was the day she'd see Louis. Jill, Mitch, and Marlon watched cautiously as she rang the doorbell. A pit of anxiety stabbed at her as the door slowly opened, on the other side was Carly.

Her eyes carried bags, they were red and puffy. A soft whimper escaped the woman's lips as she cupped her mouth. Aj had walked over to see who it was, expecting it to be Louis again, he was in shock to see his sister.

Tears rolled down his cheeks as he pushed passed his mother and hugged Clem, the impact almost knocked her to her feet as the small boy held her waist tightly. Clementines mother held the two in her arms as she cried, these were tears of joy and relief.

They all smiled as they cried, this was all they could ever ask for. As Marlon drove off, Carly pulled away and held her daughters cheeks with a soft smile. She made sure to take in every inch of the girl, starting off with her gorgeous amber eyes.

"Clementine... you're here!" She whispered, she pulled the young girl into another embrace as she gasped.

"You're crushing me." Clem whimpered weakly, the two only laughed as they pulled away.

Aj hadn't let go of clem. He held onto her for dear life, as if he let go she'd just disappear.

"Hey kiddo, you too."

Aj slowly let go, his eyes still on her. Clementine felt her smile grow wide looking at the two of them, she was so happy to be back.

"Leaving was really dangerous you know? I'm glad you're home but what you did was very irresponsible." Carly whispered, Clem felt her face drop as she looked down.

"I'm sorry."

"The only reason I'm not taking your phone is because I want to know where you are at all times. So turn back on your location and go to bed. We will talk more later."

Clementine felt her heart drop, she did not want to go through her mothers ranting. It was never something fun, she was so repetitive. The short girl let out a sigh as she stood up, she felt so tired. The small girl walked inside and towards the stairs, Aj slowly trailed behind as he looked down.

"Louis came over." He said quietly, Clementine felt her body tense upon hearing that.

"What did he want?"

"I don't know, he seemed really sad though. He wanted to see your room I guess? It was weird but he really misses you." The young boy shrugged as he walked with his sister.

Her bottom lip stuck out in a pout as she sighed, did he really miss her? Tomorrow she'd see him again, she'd actually be reunited with Louis. Marlon has told her about the Tanya thing, how they weren't even dating, she was a hook up. She was someone that he used to fill the void.

Hearing that made her feel guilty, yet somewhat better.

He even said that she looked similar to the short girl, he must have a type. Jill chuckled as she called Tanya, "the slutty version" she was thankful that things between her and the brunette weren't awkward. They were still friends.

Clementine and Aj walked into her room, the pale orange hue was an eye sore to him. But he wanted to sleep in her room, he needed to after finally getting her back. The two of them laid on the bed, exhausted as he held onto his teen sister. The two of them always bickered, yet he still loved her no matter what. As did she.

"Goodnight Clem." The small boy mumbled, Clementine let out a soft sigh as she stared at the walls.

"Goodnight kiddo."
