"When's your shift ending?" He asked as he took another sip of the drink, he had finished his meal and he had to say, it was actually pretty good.
"30 minutes because it's slow, normally I'd have two more hours." She said as she grabbed his things, he stared at her with wide eyes as he shook his head.
"On a school night, and you're working every evening?" He asked skeptically, she only nodded her head as she stared at the table. "Shit."
"It's really nothing, I could use the extra money."
"I could give you money, it really be no issue." He offered, Clementine only shook her head as she sighed.
"I can't take your money, plus it's really not a big deal." She said with a smile, Louis let out a sigh as he shook his head.
"At least let me walk you home tonight?" He offered, Clementine let out a soft giggle as she nodded her head.
"You can go now, I'm sure it'll be the same through out the thirty minutes. You did good." The older woman said from behind the counter, Clementine looked at her with a smile as she nodded her head.
"Thank you." She whispered as she walked into the kitchen, she quickly put the plates away and gathered her things.
Louis waited for her by the door, his hands were in his pockets as he leaned against one of the garbages. Clementine walked out wearing her coat, she looked at him with a small smile as she quickly took his hand, waving off her coworkers with the other.
"So how'd you know where I work?" She asked curiously as she took a sip of her water bottle. He shrugged his shoulders as he stared at the sidewalk, a small smile on his lips as they continued to walk.
"This is gonna sound super creepy, but I saw your location on my phone. I wanted to talk to you but I didn't know if you were home." He said as he rubbed his neck, Clementine raised a brow at the boy as she bit her lip.
"Why'd you want to talk to me?"
"We didn't talk all day, or all weekend. I wanted to see how you're doing I guess." He whispered, he honestly felt kind of stupid. Clementine smiled at the boy next to him, he really was sweet.
"I've just had so much going on, a lot of personal shit... you know?" She asked as she looked down, her hair covered half of her face. The ponytail had loosened making her long bangs move freely, he looked at her with a small frown as his lips parted slightly.
"Yeah I know, I just feel like I did something wrong." He said, Clementine came to a halt as she furrowed her brows. He honestly did nothing, which made her decision to leave even harder than it had to be. She cupped his face in her hands and gave him a quick yet gentle kiss, he smiled cheekily as she pulled away; he needed that.
"You did nothing wrong, trust me when I tell you this isn't something you did." She whispered, he slowly nodded his hand as he took her hand. Their fingers intertwined as they walked her home.

8 days until she runs away
"Clementine wake up!" A voice shouted, the door swung open revealing a frantic Carly. She pulled the blankets off the girl as she groaned. "You're late!"
"It's morning already?" She moaned with a frown, suddenly her cheek stung as a loud slapping noise was heard. She looked up to see Carly, almost looking regretful as she took her hand away. She took a sip of the wine in her hand as Clem frowned.
"Just... get ready, it's nine o'clock." She whispered as she left the room, Clementines eyes widened as she saw the time.
"Nine thirty!" She hissed as she fell out of bed, she was still tired from her shift at work. She didn't go to bed until 3:45.
