Clementine stared at the grave stone in front of her. Her body felt weak, her eyes filled with tears as she released a shaky sigh. Her small hands gripped onto the sides of her black black dress, the form fitting material stretched slightly. Her sobs were soft, quiet. This was a day she had been dreading, the day she had to see her father figure, Lee Everett, be buried into the ground.
Her head tilted slightly as she tried muffling her cries, an overwhelming feeling of sadness washed over her body. She had to listen to everyone, talk about how amazing he was, and how dearly he'd be missed. She had to hear all the stories about him, the things they all thought. She had to be reminded of what an amazing man he was, and how early he was taken from his family.
For so long, she had been trying to push the thought of him away. She didn't want to be reminded that it was her fault, that she should've been the one in that car. Not him.
A gust of wind picked up, blowing her skirt slightly as she stared at the grave. Many of the others had left already, going to their cars and driving away. A large hand rested on her shoulder, a small grunt came from the man as she turned around.
"You ready to go?" Kenny asked, not making full eye contact. He could only look at the grave of one of his best friends. Clementine gave a small nod, grabbing Aj's hand and walking towards the car, she didn't bother looking back at the grave, it would've been all too sad.
She sat down with Aj, his small whimpers grew louder as he leaned on Clementines shoulder. His hands held onto hers as he sighed. Duck nudged the girl slightly, grabbing her attention and flashing a sympathetic smile.
"You did real good, I don't know how you're getting through this." He whispered, scratching his head slightly. Clementine let out a soft giggle, her puffy eyes rolled as she stared down at Aj.
"I've done horrible, ignoring how I felt until this exact moment." She said softly, running her fingers through Aj's Afro. "At times, especially right now, I feel pretty weak."
"You don't give yourself enough credit." He said quietly, staring ahead as Kenny started the car. Clementine looked out the window, watching as the trees rushed by. It was cloudy, not unusual for Washington. The atmosphere felt calm surprisingly.
She couldn't get the image out of her head, Carly sobbing next to Lee's grave. It was haunting. Everything's about it was haunting. Losing your husband and children must've been awful, truly.
She could only imagine.

"He's the reason I have a missing tooth." Louis said quietly, stroking Clementines head as she sniffled slightly.
She shifted in his arms, facing his body as she smiled. "Why'd he even throw a rock at you?" She asked, giggling as his large hands brushed away his dreads.
"Beats me. But I think it's because he sucks at tag." He teased, making Clementine roll her eyes as she wiped away any stray tears. Her whole face was red, especially her eyes. They seemed dull, it was different from how bright the amber usually was.
Hearing her soft cries as her body trembled in his arms, it hurt. She had calmed down significantly, mostly because of his childhood story. She buried her head into the crook of his neck, sighing deeply at his familiar and comforting scent. His arms were wrapped around her body tightly, not wanting the let go of the girl in his arms.
Seeing the girl he loved, so broken, it worried him. He never knew what to say, he feared he'd fuck up, and say the wrong thing. He rubbed her back gently, whispering comforting words as she released a shaky sigh. She was done crying, she had been for a few minutes. It was now only her uneven breathing he could hear. A soft knock came from his bedroom door, he opened an eye slowly, seeing his mother on the other side.
