Chapter 46: Comforting arms and tears

Brody squeezed Clementine tightly, the poor girl could barely even breathe as Jill pulled her off.

"Shit Brody, you'll kill her!"

"I'm happy she's back! We've missed you so much." The redhead almost shouted, they were in the girls bathroom.

The two girls stood infront of Clem as she crossed her arms timidly, it felt weird being back. She got many weird stares, people that never had an interest in her suddenly wanted to talk. She hated high school. She hated the people in it mostly.

"I've missed you guys too... I also need help." She whispered, Brody clapped her hands together cheerfully as Jill only nodded.

"Spill!"

"I have a date... I don't know if I should dress casual or-"

"Hold up, what?" Jill whispered, Brody's eyes widened at the word date. Her small hands held Clem's shoulders as she flashed a wide smile.

"With who?" She urged, Clementine could practically feel the excitement flowing through the gingers skin. Brody's hair bounced with her as she shook Clem's shoulders.

"Louis." The two of them stayed silent, their eyes wide with worry as Clem continued. "I know what he did, and said. I have to admit I was hurt, I still am, but I can't help but still love him. We're not dating, this is like a test run."

Brody crossed her arms as she released a soft sigh. Jill leaned against the tiled walls, her black nails rubbed her arm. They weren't judging, just worried. Clementine couldn't help but feel subconscious for their reaction, was she stupid for still loving him.

"Is this what you really want?" Jill whispered, Clementine only nodded her head as Jill smirked. "Dress 'cute but casual', knowing Louis he'll try something extravagant."

"I can let you borrow something of mine! I'll bring it over to yours tonight."

Clementine felt happy, knowing that she had these two supportive girls with her. She let an angelic laugh slip as the bell rang, the three girls quickly slipped away. As they started walking, Clementine felt a soft tap on her shoulder. She turned around to see Louis, his playful smile made her heart flutter as he gently waved.

"Hey Lou." She whispered, Brody and Jill squealed as they walked away from the pair. Their smiles were wide as they watched from afar.

"So, tomorrow after school I'll pick you up. Sound good?" He asked as they neared Lily's class. Clementine let out a soft laugh as she nodded.

"Sounds great."

She quickly stood on her toes and kissed his cheek, her movement was fast. If you blinked for even a split second you'd miss it. Louis felt flustered as they walked into class together, his eyes followed Clementine as she sat next to Violet. Her beautiful brown eyes met his as he smirked.

"Mister Smith, please sit down." Lily mumbled, Louis rolled his eyes as he sat next to Clementine.

Louis stared at Clementines hand, she was still wearing his ring. It looked nice on her, anything did. He felt so happy knowing he'd get to go on a date with her, knowing that she was giving him another chance. He wouldn't fuck it up, not for anyone or anything. He had always heard about 'the one that got away' He knew that if he screwed up, she would be that girl.

He couldn't keep his eyes off her, the way her dark curls framed her face was beautiful. Now that she was back, he'd take every second he could to admire her beauty. Clementine noticed him and furrowed her brows.

"What's wrong?"

He felt his face grow hot as he shrugged.

"Can't I just admire you?" He asked, Clem playfully rolled her eyes as she shook her head. He was something else. Cringe worthy at times, but she loved him for that. It was like no one else existed when they looked at eachother, when they had any moment really. It felt perfect.
