Jersey
We sat in the living room of my condo as I built the courage to call my dad. I put his number in as they both looked at me .
"If I'm going to call him can I get some fucking privacy." I said as they scrunched up their faces.
"Hell nah, we all got children missing." Ski said.
"Thank you vro." Jah added on as I rolled my eyes.
I press the call button as I heard it ring, after three rings he picked up.
"Hello?" A deep voice boomed through the phone.
"U- uh hey it's Jersey." I said as I heard shuffling through the phone.
"Oh shit, hey. What are you up to?" He said as I got uncomfortable, he never cared about me in his life, not until now. I guess it was guilt... Plus it was on speaker.
"Actually I needed your help." I said.
"Of course. Wassup?" He said as I started to breath heavily.
"They took Lisa and my kids." I said trying to be calm as I heard more shuffling.
"L-Lisa?" He said .
"Yes." I replied.
"Ya grandchildren too nigga damn." Jah muttered under his breath getting a death stare from me in return.
"Where are you Jersey?" He said as I heard keys jingle. I gave him the address to my condo and we both hanged up.
"Jahseh if we want his help at least be cordial." I said as his face tensed up but then calmed. I do feel bad about saying maybe it would be better if he'd stayed in jail, it was just in the moment and I feel terrible about it.
3 hours later
"Where the fuck is he?" I said as we sat on the couch.
Flashback
"Mommy can I get these pweezzz!" I begged as I pointed at the bracelet. We were at the mall where she worked . My dad would pick me up to watch me until she got off.
"I'm sorry honeybun. Momma doesn't really have the money right now." She said leaning down to hug me.
"Maybe you can ask your father when he comes Okay?" She said .
"Okway mommy." I said.
"There he is Baby. I'll see you later okay?" She said kissing me on the cheek as she walked away. I walked towards my dad .
"Uhh dad can I get this?" I said and he looked down at me with a stone cold look.
"What the fuck makes you think you deserve it? You are and will always be a fucking mistake and nothing greater than that." He said .
Flashback over
"On god where the fuc-" Jahseh got interrupted by pounds on the door. I quickly got up opening the door.
