Chapter 2: first time

(April 14th, 21xx) [Light labs]

We just got out of the lab, this what I see and I quote "It's very bright, this is the brightest thing I've ever seen," as my eyes instantly adjust to the brightness of the world. Dr. Cain is also adjusting to the sudden spur of sunlight. But unlike me, he is used to sunlight while it's my first time seeing sunlight, but my eyes instantly adjust but my mind is amazed by the beauty of everything as I shed tears. Just wow I've seen computer simulations of the sun, but seeing the real sun, is just, wow, I..... n-nothing can prepare me for this. No computer simulation can compare to this unique feeling I get from this and oh my god I can't get this feeling, all I can do is just feel this sensation. "This is your first time seeing the world beyond the lab, haha, my car is just 2 miles north and the camp is ten feet to the west. So come with me my boy and I, no, we have work to do." So I follow dr Cain to his camp. When we get there all I did was wander around camp and take things in, I asked dr Cain a question "how did you find me?" He responds with "I was trying to find fossilized Mesozoic plants then my radar found something metallic underneath the ground, then I found you." Dr. Cain explained. I feel lucky that I Was found. felt like I was certain that I was going to be found someday. (Later) dr Cain is asleep and I am watching the moon and the stars and how beautiful it is and how it makes me small yet not insignificant. Like I'm with people I don't know but they are friendly and understanding. I hope tomorrow and every day will be a good day from now on.

(April 16th 21XX) [Cain labs, Cain's office]

I'm in Dr. Cain's company, called Cain labs, the company is a multi research facility that has multiple science majors. I'm in Dr. Cain's office being observed and analyzed by multiple scientists and machinery for 20 minutes, "Dr.Cain, how did you find this thing? It's like nothing I've ever seen!" One researcher said. Dr. Cain responds "THING?! IT!? No no no X isn't a thing! X is a person just like you and me! Yes, they may not be human but X is a living being. They are an actual person who can act think and feel just like us!" The researchers are baffled by what Dr. Cain said. "I second that myself." Everyone turned to me to what I said. And they unanimously say "You can talk!?" I respond with "Of course I can talk. It would be strange if I can't." They immediately ask "Can we take a look inside you to see how you work?" I squirm at the thought of it. Fear flows inside me like a river. They want to open me up and kill me? I finally say "no, never!" Dr. Cain turns to his researchers. "I'm sorry fellas I know you want to know the man, but we've got to respect X's privacy." After a long time, they continue to examine me.

[Cain labs waiting room]

they have the results, now I have to wait until they are ready to tell me. I'm a little nervous like I'm going to die, because this is so big and grand. I hope that they keep that knowledge about me a secret. Now here they come, I think I'm ready. "We were unable to come up with anything besides that you're not human and that you are more advanced than anything we know." One scientist said I don't know how to react in this situation.

[Dr. Cain's apartment]

I'm in Dr. Cain's apartment left to think about what happened earlier today. I thought they had the tech to know everything about what I am. But they don't, and I wonder about myself. Most specifically what I can do, how I'm made, what I'm made of, why can I think, and who am I.
