Chapter: 8 attack of an ancient war machine

(May 16th, 21xx) [Ancient lab]

"It's impressive... but what IS it?" I said to Dr. Cain as I look at the giant spider-like machine. Dr. Cain responds with "OH, I have no idea... but I can't wait to find out!" I ask Dr. Cain "Is this a large mechanoid?" Dr. Cain answers "That would be my first guess, but we've got to analyze it first - - HoHo." Dr. Cain tells me "What other discoveries will we find in this place, this is exciting!" As I look at the machine again, I see something glowing underneath it! I go towards the glow and when I got there I exclaim "Hey, a part of it seems to be active!" Dr. Cain came over to see. Dr. Cain then says "From what I've sampled from that thing, it's still active for one hundred years, give or take." I react with "I don't think the power cell will last long." Dr. Cain responds by grabbing the cell and saying "Well, that won't do!" I tell Dr. Cain "Careful, you don't want to hurt yourself." Dr. Cain pulls out the power cell and says "There! Let's get back before..." "vrmmm." "Rummble!" I instantly lunge and grab Dr. Cain to safety. I stand up as the machine stands menacingly. Rubble falls towards us. I transform my right forearm into the X buster and shoot. The rubble is destroyed as I see the maverick leave the building. I immediately grab Dr. Cain's hand, picking him up and say "It activated!?!? How did it..." Dr. Cain interrupts me by saying " It's a weapon! X, it's a weapon! What have I done!! X, it's heading to the surface! my dig team! The tourists!" I respond with "I will do my best to slow it down. I want you to tell the maverick hunters about this and get them to send someone!" Dr. Cain shakily says "Y- yes I will do that, but, maybe I can help stop it by looking at the other relics we found with the weapon. ... now go, X... go and save those lives."

[Desert town]

I wall jump to the entrance and see the maverick and the dig team. The dig team is running for their lives, then the maverick destroyed the building I... no... the entire dig team died... but I don't see any humans in the rubble! I must stop this... thing from causing more harm! The maverick is trying to hurt more people, I immediately take chase and shoot it! I make small dents on the maverick as the maverick aims on of its weapons at me and before I know it - I've been shot "Ahhhhhhhh!"... "thump!" That hurts like I've been hit by a bus! It feels like my chest being ripped open and my limbs feel like a human running and weight lifting for 23 hours! I must've taken a lot of damage. If I get hit again I might die! ... oh, no, the hunters still haven't arrived yet. I must not let any innocents come to harm! The maverick is on the highway! I take chase again... I charge the maverick, shooting as much as I can. "RRgh, STOP!" As I shoot at the maverick. Then the maverick shot under me and I skid across the concrete road. When I stop I hear a familiar voice."I can't believe this. If you want to have this kind of fun you need to join the hunters!" It's Zero! I respond with "Only you would think this kind of thing is fun!" While I'm jelly for joy Then someone else says "Man... look at the guns on that baby. I can't wait to destroy that thing!" I turn my head to the voice and see someone clad with purple and the face is obscured by a black plane of glass in the shape of a T with a machine gun on their shoulder. Zero then says "Then let's go Vile! The maverick isn't going to destroy itself. Listen up, support teams! You will surround the target and shoot it from a distance, leave the main fighting to us!" The support team responds "Yes sir!" I respond with "I want to help too." Zero tells me "You already have. Leave the fighting to us, go make sure Dr. Cain is alright." I then heed Zero's advice.
