Chapter 20: eagles last flight

(July 8th, 21xx) [above Abel city]

We attack storm eagle while he is stunned by the thought of a flying human in spandex. Clark tries to close the distance while I support him, but storm eagle saw this coming and shoots a tornado-like projectile. I try to dodge it, but it sweeps me away as it tries to blow me off of the ship. I find something to grab before I could fall off. When I got my footing I see Clark fighting against storm eagle and storm eagle has the advantage in this situation. I try to shoot storm eagle but I can't line up the shot without hurting Clark. "X take the shot!" I hear Clark but... I can't do it. I can't hurt my friend or take a risk that can hurt them! When I least expected it storm eagle swoops towards me. I shoot to detour them, to strike enough damage to stop this and maybe have him realize that both organic life and inorganic life can live together. Storm eagle keeps coming and nothing seems to be hitting him! I need to do something different to stop this. fight smarter, not desperate. There has to be a way to detour them someway to get out of the... wait! I could dodge and counter! They expect us to attack him first and planned for it! But what if we do the opposite! Just as storm eagle I dash behind him and shoot one of his legs. "Ahhh!" Storm eagle kneels from the blow I start to talk to them "Please don't do this storm eagle! We could work something out! I don't think it's going to be what you think it is if you join us!" Storm eagle responds "You are either blind to what happens to us or you are unbelievably naive and optimistic." I... what is Storm eagle talking about? When I got closer Storm eagle rushes towards me. Before I could act Clark comes out of nowhere and tackles Storm eagle. As they fight I stop to look in horror at how they brutally beat each other. I snap out of it when Clark calls to me "X take the shot!" I raise my buster and charge. As I finished charging I see storm eagles face and they are smiling. It immediately creeps me out but I think they are goading me to shoot and... and hurt my friend. Before I knew it Clark is pinned down and Storm eagle says "You either kill me right now or I will kill your flying friend! Your choice hero! Either way, I'm dying today by your hand!" I was stunned by this but I can see that they are serious and I aim and shoot my charge shot at the back. Storm eagle explodes into nothing. "I... I... that was... why did storm eagle..." before I... I could... continue Clark interrupts "Let's destroy this joint and get back to the hunter base." We head to the core destroy it and left knowing no one will get hurt. We are going back to the hunter base to rest and heal.
