━━━━━ A FEW DAYS had passed since the accident, and Ellie had explained to Charlie that an animal had gotten in the way causing her to total her car. But she was lying to him about what had really happened, giving that Victoria had been the cause of her almost death.
With her own money, she had bought a new car, and was able to drive herself to work again. Ellie looked up from an action book that she had been reading recommended by one of her customers, and so far she had been enjoying the book.
The bell rang, Ellie looked over to see Carlisle walk through the door. Astrid peeped her head from out of the back room looking at Carlisle. She watched as the blonde walked up to Ellie smiling at her. Astrid walked over to the two, waiting for Carlisle to say something.
"Victoria's coming back. She knows you're still alive and she's still after Bella too." Carlisle explained looking between the two.
"So what are we going to do?" Astrid asked him.
"I want the two of you to go somewhere that isn't here." Carlisle responded.
"Well, I've always wanted to go to San Francisco." Ellie told him.
"Great, Astrid will go with you for the weekend. I'll drop you both off at the airport." Carlisle told the two.
"What about Bella?" Ellie asked him.
"Edward is taking Bella to Florida to see her mom." He replied walking behind the counter to pull Ellie in for a side hug.
"Oh okay, that's good. When are we leaving?" Ellie asked him.
"Tonight." Carlisle simply replied.
"Well, Astrid why don't you go home and get ready, we'll come pick you up." Ellie informed her. Astrid nodded in response.
"Okay, I'll be leaving now." Astrid said as she passed the two. Ellie smiled, placing her head on Carlisle's shoulder. The two watched her leave the store.
"Well, let me grab my stuff and we can go back to my place." Ellie said, jumping off her chair.
Carlisle watched as she walked to the back room to grab her things. A few moments later Ellie came out of the back room, stopping in front of Carlisle.
"We can go now." Ellie said, pulling out her keys to lock the door.
Carlisle grasped her hand, as the two walked over to the door. Ellie flipped the sign to 'closed' and walked out, locking the door. Shoving her keys in her bag and walking over to Carlisle's car. Once the two were in they drove towards the Swan household.
Coming to a stop the two exited out of the car. Walking up the steps the two passed through the door. Carlisle followed behind Ellie as the two entered her room. Ellie grabbed her suitcase and started packing clothes into it. Carlisle sat on her bed looking around her room.
"You really do love books." Carlisle expressed looking at the numerous books that had been piled up in her room.
"Yeah, I do. I guess that's why I own a bookstore. I've just always loved books ever since I was little." Ellie explained.
Charlie walked over to Ellie's bedroom door hearing talking. Coming to a stop he saw Ellie packing up her suitcase and Carlisle sitting next to it.
"You aren't skipping town again are you?" Charlie asked as Carlisle and Ellie looked over at him.
"No, Charlie. Carlisle bought me a plane ticket to San Francisco for the weekend." Ellie explained.
"Oh, well, have fun." Charlie stated, he seemed relieved that she wasn't running away again. He was so scared to lose both his daughters.
"Thanks, Charlie. I'll bring back something for you." Ellie replied.
Charlie nodded his head and walked back towards the kitchen. Ellie finished packing her clothes and closed her suitcase.
"Okay I'm ready." Ellie told Carlisle.
He stood up and grabbed Ellie's suitcase and the two walked out heading down the steps. Once they were in the car they headed towards Astrid's place to pick her up. After picking her up they made their way to the airport.
