━━━━━ ELLIE WALKED WITH Carlisle by her side the two walking over to see Astrid and Max. Bella thought it was best to invite them to the wedding given that Sam and Emily had turned down the offer. It made Ellie sad, but in that moment she knew Astrid and Max would be her friends for a lifetime. But, Bella saw them as family too, even if Max didn't agree with what Ellie wanted.
"Hey guys!" Ellie called out.
She pulled away from Carlisle pulling both Astrid and Max at the same time. Carlisle gave her a smile, and left her to go talk to Esme and Jamie while she was spending time with Astrid and Max.
"So, are you and Carlisle going to get married next?" Max asked knowing it would be a yes.
Ellie looked down at the ground briefly, then lifted her head looking back up at Max.
"Yeah, but, I don't know when and I don't want you to shut me out and disappear." Ellie said, looking towards her friend.
"Don't worry, I'll keep that in mind." Max replied as Astrid looked at him.
"I'm serious Max, you along with Astrid are my best friends and I don't want anything to change because I marry Carlisle." Ellie informed him, lifting a finger and pointing at him.
Astrid couldn't help but laugh at how serious Ellie was being. Ellie turned slightly seeing Carlisle with Carmen and Eleazar, she turned back around looking between Astrid and Max.
"I'll talk to you guys after, Carmen wanted to talk, and I promised her we would talk." Ellie informed her friends.
"We'll be around." Astrid replied, pulling Max away from her.
She began walking searching for Carmen, she had been with Eleazar, but when he noticed her walking towards them he left allowing them to talk with each other. Carlisle had gone with Eleazar. Ellie came to a stop standing in front of Carmen, a smile resting on her lips.
"So, how long have you known Carlisle for?" Carmen asked, wanting to know more about the women that would one day marry Carlisle.
"A few years, but I feel like it's already been forever." She replied, while walking around the area.
"I can tell Carlisle really loves you." Carmen said, Ellie stopped looking towards the vampire. Ellie couldn't help but smile at the words.
"And I love him. I wouldn't change it for the world. Everything we've been through, whether it's been good or bad, it's been worth the wait." Ellie informed her watching as Carmen smiled at her.
"I do look forward to the future wedding between you two." Carmen told her. Ellie had already grown to like the women, she knew down the road they would be close friends.
"As do I." Ellie replied, looking towards Carlisle.
"Excuse me. Is this on?" Emmett asked through the microphone.
Ellie said her goodbye to Carmen leaving to join Carlisle at their table. He pulled the chair out for her, allowing her to sit down. Once she was sitting down he sat down next to her, wrapping his arm around her back, making the brunette smile.
"Umm, I'd like to propose a toast." Emmett announced, holding a glass of champagne. Everyone lifted their glasses up, while Ellie didn't she hadn't been in the mood to drink any alcohol. "To my new sister. Bella, I hope you've gotten enough sleep these last 18 years. Cause you won't be getting any more for a while." Emmett said laughing slightly.
Ellie shook her head looking over at Charlie as he took a sip of his drink. Ellie watched as Jessica Stanley made her way up to the stage to make a speech. Just by the words she had been speaking she could tell Jessica was jealous of the relationship. After her speech was finished Charlie walked up to the stage, with the glass in his hand.
"Edward will be a good husband. I know this because I'm a cop. I know things. Like how to hunt somebody to the ends of the Earth. And I know how to use a gun." Charlie told everyone.
But it was mostly directed towards Edward. Laughter filled Ellie's ears, at the man's speech. Stepping down Alice made her way up to the stage looking towards Bella.
"Now that you're my sister, you'll have to get over your aversion to fashion. Skirts, heels, handbags." Alice said, smiling at her.
Ellie knew she would get the same treatment from Alice soon enough but she didn't care, she was in dire need of a fashion change. The brunette lowered her head towards Carlisle when Renée started singing for Bella.
She loved her adoptive mother, even though they hadn't seen each other for a while. But, she hated when Renée sang, especially in front of a lot of people. Ellie smiled watching Esme stand up and walk towards the front to give her speech.
"I'd like to thank Renée and Charlie for bringing such a wonderful person into the world and into our lives. We will cherish and protect her forever." Esme said, soon walking off the stage. Bella looked towards Ellie indicating that it was her turn.
"Do I have too?" Ellie asked, looking over at Bella.
"Yes, I wanna hear what you have to say." Bella said hoping it would be enough motivation.
Ellie sighed, lifting herself up from the chair and walking towards the stage. She moved closer towards the microphone, looking out at everyone. Edward, Bella, Charlie, Renée, and Carlisle had smiles on their faces waiting for her to say something.
"Hello everyone, for those who don't know me I'm Bella's adoptive sister." She started the speech with simple words though she had been extremely nervous and Carlisle could tell that she had been.
"Speech's aren't my thing, but Bella insisted on hearing mine. I first off want to start with a thank you to Carlisle, Esme and Jamie. You gave Bella the person that would ultimately make her happy, and in the time I've known Bella, I like seeing her happy. Happy is a good look on her." Ellie said, watching as Edward looked towards his wife. Bella still had a smile on her face.
"Edward has given Bella many things in their time of knowing each other and the love that they share is what they both deserve to share, so, to Bella and Edward, let your love grow and prosper and continue to grow for the future you two will share." Ellie said, sending a smile towards them.
Bella stood up from her chair walking towards her adoptive sister, Ellie stepped off the stage heading towards Bella. When the two were close enough Bella pulled Ellie into a tight hug.
"I love you so much." She informed Ellie.
"I love you too, Bells." Ellie replied.
The two walked back towards their table Bella sitting back down, while Edward stood up. Ellie sat back down next to Carlisle smiling at him.
"That was a beautiful speech." Carlisle said, grasping her hand in his.
"I've never been so nervous in my life." She replied, causing the vampire to laugh at her comment.
"It's over now. You can relax." He simply told her. She agreed, looking towards Edward.
"It's an extraordinary thing to meet someone who you can bare your soul to. And who will accept you for what you are." Edward began to say, staring intently at his wife.
Carlisle looked towards Ellie as she looked at him, sending him a small smile. She moved closer, placing a kiss on his cheek, causing him to send her a small smile.
"I've been waiting, what seems like a very long time, to get beyond what I am. And with Bella, I feel like I can finally begin. So I'd like to propose a toast to my beautiful bride. No measure of time with you will be long enough. But let's start with forever." Edward said, looking around at everyone.
