━━━━━ ELLIE FOLLOWED BEHIND Bella, the two placed their blood on various trees in preparation for the battle. They walked out of the woods as Bella placed some more of her blood on a fern. Ellie looked over to Max and Astrid while Bella walked towards Edward.
"You're going overboard." Edward spoke calmly.
Ellie rolled her eyes at him passing by them, she wrapped her arms around Max giving him a hug. She disregarded the conversation between Edward and Bella. It wasn't really any of her business, she jumped into Max's arms.
She watched as Astrid shifted into an animal and headed up the trail leading the way for them. Soon Max was right behind her, covering Ellie's scent up. The three of them arrived at the campsite just minutes before Bella and Jacob had arrived.
The brunette jumped out of his arms looking around the area, it was a pretty sight, and she only imagined that it would be beautiful come spring time. Ellie pulled her sleeves down to her hands feeling the cold air.
She followed behind Astrid as she led her over to the tent that she would be sleeping in for the night. Ellie continued to count down the hours until she could finally be with Carlisle. She couldn't wait to spend two weeks alone with him. Ellie turns around looking over at Jacob as he begins speaking.
"He's not happy about missing the action but it'll keep him out of trouble. Max will join the pack in the morning to be there for the battle." Jacob explained looking around at everyone.
Ellie only nodded her head understanding what was going to go down. She turned around and headed towards her tent. Not long after climbing in Astrid and Max came in to keep her company.
The sun had gone to rest, while the moon had awakened, leaving a cold and chilly night, followed by a snow storm. But soon enough the chilly night had turned into a window night making it difficult for Ellie to go to sleep.
She looked around the tent holding her arms close to her body attempting to stay warm. Part of her was glad that Carlisle hadn't been here to see her shiver to death but at the same time she knew Edward could hear her as well as Jacob and Max.
The two had been outside doing a guard watching to see what was happening around them. Meanwhile Ellie and Astrid were inside the tent not talking to each other simply because Ellie was too cold to even talk. However, her prayers were answered when Max came back into the tent sitting down next to her and pulled her closer to his chest to warm her up.
"Thank you." She breathed out, placing her hand on his chest and closing her eyes. However she hadn't gone to sleep just yet.
"Is Carlisle really the right person for her?" Max asked Astrid, starting a conversation.
Astrid lifted her eyes from Ellie looking at Max as he stared back at her.
"Yeah, he is and you shouldn't be upset. I'm sure there is someone out there waiting for you." Astrid replied looking back down at Ellie.
"How do you know?" He asked her not wanting the conversation to end.
Astrid sighed, messing with her hair, "look Max, I get that you love her. But, the love that you have for her isn't the love that she has for Carlisle."
"I guess I just want what's best for her." Max announced looking down at Ellie.
"Carlisle is what's best for her. I've known her long enough to know that she's been searching for love her whole life and Carlisle gives her that love. It would be rude of you to take that away from her. Especially after everything she's lost. I'm gonna get some sleep. Wake me up if you need me to do some protection." Astrid said, closing her eyes. Ellie smiled in her sleep, slowly drifting off to a deep sleep.
