Taylor pulled out her phone and began to text Faris.

T: Fay, I just had an amazing idea!!

F: tell me!

T: So u know how Peyton and Lili haven't had their first kiss yet?

F: yea, they're not even together

T: Right, they just act like it lol

T: I was thinking we could gather together for New Years at my house and have the midnight kiss

T: So we can finally get the two to get together and kiss

T: What do you think?

F: perfect

F: hey, does your dad know we're a thing? You know how dads are with daughters...

T: Yeah, he knows. He took it surprisingly well

F: good, I was scared for a sec

F: so when should it happen

F: the party

T: I was thinking it could start at 9:45 so we can hang out for a bit and then party once it's close to midnight

F: that's perfect

F: see u next week?

T: Yup

T: Bye❤️ Love you

F: 😘 Luv u too, bye

Lillian knocked on the door, and Taylor quickly opened it. They said their hello's and walked inside.

"So, you wanted me to help you bake?" Lillian asked.

"Yes," Taylor replied. "For the party tonight. I was hoping we could make cupcakes."

"Oh, cupcakes are my specialty! Just show me the ingredients and I'll be done in like an hour! Depending on the prep and bake time, that is."

The two laughed and went into Taylor's kitchen. Taylor pulled up a chocolate cupcake recipe on her phone and gathered the ingredients. Lillian took her time, showing Taylor different techniques and tips. Once the cupcakes were in the oven, they started on the frosting. Sooner than they both expected, they were done decorating their cake. Lillian wiped her hands onto her apron.

"I think this was a job well done," she said, smiling at their work.

"I do too," Taylor replied. The two left to the livingroom and watched TV for what seemed like hours before there was another knock at the door. Taylor stood up and rushed to the door. She opened it to see her next two guests. She was taken aback by Faris' hug, but hugged back.

The four didn't do much. All they really did was eat cake and binge Netflix shows. 11:50 soon came and everyone was tired, with the exception of Lillian. They were all able to stay up, though.

"So," Taylor started, "Faris and I decided that we should all have the midnight kiss. Y'know, to give this chapter something interesting."

TINA DON'T BREAK THE FOURTH WALL!!

"Sorry, had to."

As I was saying...

Lillian and Peyton looked at each other before looking back at Taylor. "B-But, we aren't-" Peyton began before Faris cut them off. "But you pretty much are! Ever since you got here, Peyton, you two have seemed perfect for each other! And c'mon, you guys went to the dance together!"

"I...guess you're right..."

"Can we all shush please!?" Lillian shouted. "How about we talk about how much we all love each other and how the year went and worry about relationships after?"

"Okay, okay, chill out!" Faris laughed.

The awkward atmosphere soon vanished, and as the minutes dragged on, they all talked about how grateful they were for each other. As the clock hit 12:59, the four waited excitedly for the countdown.

It was ten seconds until it hit twelve o'clock. The friends counted down together.

"Ten! Nine! Eight! Seven! Six! Five! Four! Three! Two! ONE!! Happy New Year!!!!"

As soon as the countdown finished, Lillian grabbed Peyton by the collar of their shirt and pulled them down to her face, kissing them. Faris and Tina then practically screamed their heads off before kissing each other. As soon as Lillian pulled away, she began to speak.

"Peytie, we've known each other for a few months now, and I feel like I finally tell you...You're an amazing person and an even more amazing personality and I feel like once I met you I couldn't get you off my mind. I could never tell whether you liked me back but you asking me to the dance confirmed it. I wanted to ask you during the dance, actually, but I was just too nervous. But I know that if I don't do this, I'd hate myself for not trying. So, Peyton..."

Taylor and Faris' eyes widened as wide smiles spread onto their faces. "This is it..." Taylor whispered to Faris.

"Peyton, will you go out with me?"

Peyton stood in shock for a moment. They had fallen head-over-heels for Lillian for just as long as she had, but they never knew how to properly ask her out. Now, they didn't need to. And seeing how passionate Lillian was about her love for them just made them fall even harder for her. They didn't even realize they had been standing silently for a minute too long, as a frown began to take over Lillian's previously serious demeanor.

"Oh...You don't actually l-"

Peyton cut her off, taking her face in their hands and kissing her again.

"Yes."
