Entry #135,

Micah talked to Kyler today. She looked flustered. I can't let her have him. He belongs to me. Then again, who knows if he's even gonna accept me if I confess? Am I really good enough? Anyways, PE's ending in a few seconds. I'll write tonight.

Sooner than expected, the day was over. Peyton walked and laughed with their new friends. Throughout the day, they had been debating telling their friends the truth. Because of how supportive they already seemed, they decided to just go for it. "Hey, uh, guys?"

"Yes, Peytie?" Lillian responded, the other two looking over at Peyton.

"Can I...Tell you a secret?"

The three nodded their heads.

"Please don't think I'm weird, but..."

They lowered their voice.

"I-I'm non-binary..."

Lillian's eyes lit up. "Really?!"

"Yeah..."

"That's...So cool! I've never had a non-binary friend before!"

The others gave their input, all very nice and supportive.

"Well, since you told us your secret," Lillian said, "then I'll tell you mine."

She took in a deep breath.

"The reason the bullies would target us is because...I'm...Transgender. Male to female. They'd make fun of me, saying rude comments about my hair and clothes ever since middle school. Well, they got so much better once this year rolled around, using my corrsct name and pronouns and stopped bullying me. That't why it was a bit of a shock that Nicholas made fun of your necklace."

"I think that's stupid. Why judge someone just because of who they are? I think it's really cool that you're trans."

Lillian blushed a bit. "Thanks. Oh, since you're non-binary, we should use 'they' and 'them' pronouns, right?"

"Yup."

Susan pulled out her phone. "Although they aren't home, we should at least tell my parents you're coming over," she told Bastion. She scrolled through her contacts and pressed on her mom's icon. Her mother soon picked up.

"Hello? Hey, mom. I was wondering if Bastion could come over?.... My goodness, mom, no! We'll probably just watch a movie or something. .... No, we're not gong to 'chill', mom! .... Okay, thank you. .... Okay, love you too. Bye."

"I'm assuming that's a yes?" Bastion asked.

"Yep. Let's get going."

The two walked down the sidewalk, and ten minutes had passed before they made it to Susan's house. She dug through her backpack, finding her keys and unlocking the door. The two stepped inside. The house was small, but big enough to house a family of three. Susan sat on the cocoa-colored couch and patted the spot beside her, motioning Bastion to take a seat. He sat, and Susan turned towards him, sitting in a criss-cross position.

"So," she started, cocking her head to one side. "Why did Kyle try to hurt you last week? I heard him trying to get you to talk about something."

"Oh, um...I d-don't want to talk about it..."

"Oh, okay, that's fine. Anyways, I said earlier we could watch a movie so-"

"Actually, I'll tell you. He found a scrap of paper that fell out of my binder. On it, there was your picture from the yearbook last year I had copied with a red heart on the corner." He grabbed Susan's hands, blushing. "I love you, Susan. Ever since I met you last year. And even after I told you how terrible I was in middle school, you didn't hate me like I had anticipated...You supported me, and that just made me love you more. I love you. More than anything."
