Four Years Ago...
"Hey, Liam, what's up with the hair?"
"And the skirt?"
"I already told you guys, I'm a girl! I'm growing my hair out and wearing girl clothes!"
"But you're genetically a boy, so you're a boy."
"That's my sex. I'm biologically male, but my gender is female. There's a difference."
One of the boys sighed.
"Whatever, Liam. Benjamin?"
The other boy stepped up and cracked his knuckles, and instead of swinging a punch at the young girl, he pushed her into a large, muddy puddle made from the previous rainstorm. The boys laughed and ran off. The girl sighed and stood up, trying to ring the water out of her skirt. She went to a teacher near the cafeteria to ask if she could change. She was given permission to go into the locker room and change, so she put on her P.E. shirt and wore the leggings that were under her skirt.
"Hey, isn't that Liam?"
"Yeah. Apparently he thinks he's a girl."
"He calls himself Lillian."
"Does his parents agree to this?"
"I'm gonna go talk to her..."
"Don't you mean him?"
The girl payed no attention to the others and walked to Lillian.
"Um, hey!" She greeted.
"Hi..." Lillian replied. "Here to taunt me?"
"What? No, not at all! I heard what the others said...They just don't understand."
"They really don't. I've tried to explain to multiple people how I feel, but they either don't understand or don't listen."
"Well, I understand."
"You do?"
"Well, I haven't completely wrapped my head around it, but I believe I understand most of it."
"You're really nice. I wish the others were like you. Oh, I never asked, what's your name?"
"Taylor, pleasure to meet you. I hear your name is Lillian?"
"Yup!"
"Taylor! Why are to talking to him?" Somebody called.
"Huh? Oh, I was just-"
"Nope! Don't wanna hear it. We need to get to the vending machines before too many people get there!"
"Um, okay...See you, Lillian."
"Bye..."
Present Time...
"...Lili...Lili...Lili!"
"Huh? What?" Lillian said, looking around.
"Are you alright?" Taylor asked. "You've just been staring off."
"Yeah," Faris started, "I was gonna smack you or something if you didn't respond."
They laughed.
"Seriously though, are you alright?" Peyton asked.
"Um...Yeah! Perfectly normal!"
Faris and Taylor smiled and continued to talk, but Peyton wasn't buying it. They decided to speak with Lillian after lunch.
"Lili?"
"Hey, Peytie! What's up?"
"You weren't exactly acting like yourself earlier."
Lillian sighed.
"You know me too well. I was...Remembering when Nicholas and Benjamin would bully me back in sixth grade because of my transition."
"Lili, that's in the past. It happened, and now it won't happen again, from them at least." They sighed. "Listen, I know how you feel. I'm afab, so transitioning from female to a more masculine-presenting enby was super hard, so I know what it's like. But hey, I got on testosterone and nobody can even tell I was a girl. Same with you; You're taking estrogen now, and I had no idea you were trans!"
Lillian smiled and blushed.
"So don't worry about it. I know you've probably faced so much, and I'll be honest, you'll face more. But you can push through it all, just like with Nicholas and Benjamin. It'll just take some time."
"...Thanks, Peytie. You're the best partner I could ever ask for." She got on her toes and kissed Peyton on the cheek.

I thought about it and in this timeline Painty is afab (assigned female at birth) and is transitioning to be a masc-presenting enby. I felt like it fit them. I feel like they'd still do/wear more feminine stuff, though.
