Chapter 28

"Hey babe wanna come downstairs while we rehearse?" Connor asked "no thanks con I think I might just stay up here for a little while. Thanks though" I faked a smile.

It's literally killing me inside I need to tell him yet I'm too scared to.

I walked out of my room and ran into Tristan. Thank god. I really needed him right now.

"Tristan? Can I talk to you? Alone in my room?" I asked "uh yeh sure" we went into my room.

"Tristan. I. I. I can't be with Connor anymore" I said "what? Your best friends, what happened?" He asked shocked "I love him loads but" I paused.

This was it. No turning back now.

"But. I cheated on him a few months ago and I can't be with him knowing that I did that. What do I do? It's killing me knowing I did that but if I tell him then our relationship will possibly be ruined" I said almost in tears "no. Ashleigh, you didn't" Tristan said "tell him. They're will be a lot less damage in your relationship if you tell him now and not wait" Tristan said "but. I'm scared" I admitted "of what?" He questioned "I'm scared that I'm gonna loose my best friend. What if he hates me? I wouldn't blame him but I can't can't afford to loose him. Tristan I love him" I sighed the last part.

Some how Tristan convinced me to tell Connor so that's what I did.

As soon as that band the boys were writing with left I had to tell him.

"Connor? I need to tell you something" I said as we walked outside. I didn't want the others to hear. "Connor before you go home to see your family I think I should tell you something that's been killing me for a while. I love you with all my heart I really do and I'm kinda scared to say this because you are honestly my best friend and you've saved my life multiple times but. A few months ago, I went to some party thing and this drunk guy kissed me and he pretty much treated me like his girlfriend. That went on for a week before I realized that I was his girlfriend and that i had che. I cheated on you" a tear slipped down my face "how could it take you a week to realize?" He asked with mixed emotions in his voice "I kept running in to him in the street. We weren't even together for long I just thought he was a drunk but he was sober" I said "I loved you Ashleigh" Connor said standing up from the front step. "Connor. I do love you. Please can we just talk this out?" I begged "Ashleigh" he said a little annoyed "Connor" I cried "Ashleigh. Just let me go" he said as I let go of his hand.

As soon as he'd left I ran inside crying my eyes out. As I ran inside I saw Tristan so I ran to him for support.

"He left" I cried "I'm sorry" Tristan hugged me and I turned around to see a confused Bradley, James and Emmzy. I also saw a face I've never seen before?

I explained what happened to the guys, found out the girl was Jemma, James' friend, and realized I just lost the best thing that's ever happened to me.

I walked up into my room and found one of Connor's hoodies laying on the end of the bed.

I picked it up and I could smell his scent on it.

Thats just what I needed isn't it? I needed to be reminded of my Connor.

You idiot Ashleigh.

CONNOR'S POV

I can't believe she did that! I loved her so much and I thought she loved me too but she still went and cheated.

"Connor" somebody knocked on the door to my room. I didn't really pay any attention to who it was just some relative. "Connor. Please come downstairs" I looked up to see my grandma "I don't feel like it at the moment. I might come down later" I said looking down.

I don't really feel like seeing all the happy couples in my family. I don't care if they're all here for my brothers birthday, which is tomorrow, I can't go down there.

"Connor. What's wrong?" My grandma asked. I decided to explain the whole thing to her. "Connor. You don't need a girlfriend to be happy" she said "I know. Ashleigh wasn't just my girlfriend. She was my best friend. She has been since pre school. She means the world to me. No matter what she does I will love her" I said "then why aren't you with her now?" Grandma asked "I. She. We. I don't know. I shouldn't have done what I did and left. I need my Ashleigh back" I realized.

As I was about to call her someone knocked on my room door "come in" I called out "Connor. I know you don't want to see me but please just read this" Ashleigh said handing me a note.

'Dear Connor,

You are my best friend. I love you lots. I'm sorry for what I did and I'll do anything to make it up to you. I truly am sorry. I didn't know what the guy was doing until he tried to take me home with him. I promise you as soon as I found out what exactly was going on I 'broke up' with him (even though we weren't in a real relationship) and trust me I kicked him in his 'man area'. I just want you to know I love you.

It read out "Ashleigh. I love you so much. My grandma helped me realize that I shouldn't have just left I should've let you explain. I love you" i kissed her forehead "I love you Connor. I know when I say it it sounds like a piss poor I love you, ya know the ones you say to relatives you don't like, but i mean it. I love you Connor is like. It. Words cannot even describe how I feel. I know I ramble a lot but Connor. I love you" ash smiled "we all know you ramble. A LOT. But it's cute. It shows how nervous you are. It's one of my favorite things about you" I said "I love you" I then added kissing her lips.

And with that things were how they were meant to be, again.

We walked downstairs hand in hand when grandma walked up to us "there's that perfect couple we all love" she said "thanks grandma" I said looking at Ashleigh. My love.

"Hey little buddy" I saw Ashleigh talk to my brother, Lewie as I was talking to my mum.

"Don't stand to close to me your making me feel so short you little butt head" Ashleigh said causing me to laugh "your 17 and I'm 13" ((I DO NOT KNOW HOW OLD HE IS THIS IS JUST A GUESS SORRY)) "nup. Your still a little twelvie. Not 13 until tomorrow little bro" she stuck her tongue out at him "at least I'm not old like you" he stuck his tongue out at her "get out. Just leave. The door is over there just go walk out it I'm done with you" ash tried not to laugh, but failed.

"Connor? Connor? Are you listening?" Mum clicked her fingers in my face "oh what sorry" I said "you really love her don't you?" Mum asked and I nodded "more than you know" I smiled "can you please go upstairs and get Lewie's birthday present. We're giving him 1 early this year. Thank you" she sent me upstairs.

I soon returned, handed mum the gift then walked over to ash and Lewie.

"So what's going on?" I asked "can you tell your stupid brother that I'm not short?" Ashleigh begged "sorry kiddo. He's right. You are a short one" "I'm done with you two" she walked to the door pretending to be annoyed soon walking back.
