(Your P.O.V)
After making it back to the stands, I hand Izuku back his book.
"Thanks, where were you? I thought you went to the restroom?"
"I did, I just ran into a bit of trouble in the hall, it was nothing but annoying. How is Todoroki?"
"Well, I don't know, he seemed upset, then when he used his ice quirk, this ice wall happened. They just declared him the winner, that's why it was over before you got here. It was only a couple of seconds."
After the ice was thawed and Kaminari was defeated my the girl with vine hair in the next battle it was my turn. I was against some guy in class 1-B. I waved to the others as they cheered me on when I made my way to the arena. As soon as Midnight waved the flag to go, the kid charged at me. I built up pressure in my foot and as soon as he was close enough, I twirled and swung my foot up to his head. He tried to block, but it was useless, and went flying across the ground.
He wasn't out of bounds but he was still trying to get up. I ran towards him and build up pressure in my fist. He charged up to use his quirk, but I punched him in the chest and sent him rolling onto the ground one last time far out of the ring. When Midnight declared me the winner, the whole arena was filled with a roar of cheers. He was still breathing, but wasn't getting up, so he was taken away on a stretcher to the nurses. After some more battles between students, it was now Bakugo against Ochako. Somehow I found myself alone with Ochako in the waiting room before her battle. The scared girl gave her thanks to Izuku and Iida for trying to give her a strategy against Bakugo, though she denied the help, and requested to talk with me in private. The two left and it was just me and her. She was panting lightly to slow and heavy heaving.
"I don't know y/n. What if I don't win this? You know more than the other two that I need to win this to become a pro hero so that I can get the money to take care of my family. If I can't do this, I'll let my family down!" She started crying. My heart went out to her. I've never seen her cry the entire time I've known her. I go up to her and held her close, letting her soak my shirt with her heavy tears. When she was done I pulled back and looked her in the eyes.
"Ochako. You have to understand, if you don't win this, it's not gonna matter." She looked at me as if I was crazy. "Do you honestly think this sports festival is the only way to become a hero? There are plenty of heros who never went to a heros school and still became great. We have a few more years at this school to become heros. This isn't a once in a life time opportunity. Trust me. You can't be doubting yourself either. And besides," I smooth away the tears left on her face. "by the way you speak of your parents, I bet you're already a real hero in their eyes for going through great lengths for them. You're already a hero in my eyes. All you have to do, is show them what you've got, give it your all, and then you're there, whether you get first place or not." The color returned to her cheeks and so did her well known smile.
"Thank you Y/n! You're right!" She jumped back and stood in an empowering stance with an energetic aura around her. "I'm gonna go out there and do my best to get it done!"
I cheered and pumped my fists into the air. "WHOO!! That's my girl!" She hugged me one more time and thanked me. "Now I'm gonna go back to the stands. Good luck sis." I leave and get there in time to see her walk out and face Bakugo. When it's time to fight, Ochako is the first one to charge forward at him. Time flies and the longer they go on, the more dirt and debris goes into the air as they fight. I can still see him hitting her with explosion after explosion, attacking her with every chance he can get. The crowd boo's everything he does the more she gets hurt. Though I can see she's managing to handle her own out there. I'm seeing her use impressive maneuvers and fighting styles to her advantage. Then she rained down a meteor shower of rocks she picked off the ground, even catching me off guard. Unfortunately, Bakugo was able to counter attack it and finally defeated her. She looked like she was getting up one more time, but she was too exhausted, and fainted onto the ground. With Bakugo declared as the winner. My heart feels as though it's breaking as I see her being carried away. Izuku leaves for his next battle with Todoroki. Bakugo later comes back in the stands and walks up to me.
"What is it now?" I sigh.
"I saw you leaving her waiting room before the battle. Were you the one who helped her with all those tricks?" He glared down at me. I scoffed and challenged his stare.
"Oh please, Ochako may be my friend, but when we offered to help give her some ideas, she refused. She gave you a run for your money all on her own. She's smarter than you think. Hell she may be even smarter than me and I wouldn't be surprised. But there is one thing for sure," I look back to the arena, "she's not weak." Without another word, he leaves for his seat off in thought.
I just stayed seated, refusing to leave my seat as I watch the whole event unfold before me. I covered my face half of the time and squirmed uncomfortably as I see Izuku continue to hurt himself as he fights the bi-color haired boy. It was a lot of yelling between them that I'm sure no one else in the stands understands besides me, Bakugo, and Endeavor if he is watching.
Then, when Todoroki used his fireside, all hell broke loose. They went for each other, and before that could happen, Cementos creates many stone walls between both attacks, defusing the explosion, but still creating a huge counter blast on the entire arena. We got down and tried to block the aftermath.
Dust and debris floated all in the air, slowly blowing the dust cloud up. When the air was finally cleared, Shouto was standing in the ring shocked, and Izuku fell to the ground, out of bounds, covered in many injuries. I watched in shock as they also took him away. Everything in me wanted to scream, cry, break, and rage out. But I had to listen to All Might and the Principal, and I forced myself to calm down, and swallowed my emotions.
I was told by someone to go to the waiting area for my next match. I don't know who, but I just went. On my walk, I took in steady breaths. 'I have to calm down.' I thought. 'Nothing good is going to come from me getting angry. Neither is getting revenge, so get that out of your head.' Shaking my head furiously I opened the door and made my way inside the room and sat myself down, still focusing on calming down. 'I can see Izuku after this battle. He's probably healed by Recovery Girl already...yeah!' I smiled to myself. 'And when I get back, I can show him just how proud I am of him for making it this far.' I blushed to myself and started stretching for the fight. When it was time for me to go out, on the platform waiting for me was Iida. I cracked my fingers and popped my neck.
"Let's do this."
