After I greeted everyone I sat net to Kira. While the trial started.
"So, I see you've patched things up with Wren." Kira says.
"You saw that?" I ask surprised.
"If you see us I can see you." Kira says.
I let out a small giggle.
"Yeah I guess you're right." I say.
"So?" Kira asks.
"Yeah we patched things up." I say smiling slightly.
"That's great." Kira says.
"Yeah it is." I say.
"Why don't you sound excited? This is an exciting moment." Kira says.
I pry my eyes away from Wren and I focus on Kira.
"Because we resolved the fight at that moment. We didn't resolve the problem fully, and we always have the same fight." I say.
Kira's face goes from excitement to understanding.
"What's the fight?" Kira asks.
"He wants to settle down and have a family. I can't do that." I say.
"Why can't you?" Kira asks, but then she realizes why and winces.
"I'm sorry." Kira says.
"It's okay." I say.
"Is that the only reason why you can't?" Kira asks.
"Besides the fact I'm dying yes. If I survive which I can. I know I can. I'm still a vessel for the crystal force, and a seer for the crystal people." I say.
"And?" Kira asks.
"That doesn't really allow me time to be a mother." I say.
Kira nods, but she looks skeptical.
"Your bloodline." Kira says.
"What?" I ask, although I know what she was getting at.
"You're powerful which means your bloodline is powerful. The crystal force chose you, because they've been able to possess people in your bloodline ahead of you." Kira says.
"What are you getting at?" I ask.
"You don't want to pass your gifts onto your children." Kira says.
I look away, because she was right.
"Does Wren know that reason?" Kira asks.
"No." I say.
"Why?" Kira asks.
"Because I know what he'll say to that." I say.
"What will he say?" Kira asks.
"That we can adopt or we don't know if that's true." I say.
"I think you should tell him." Kira says.
"That would add another layer onto our argument." I say.
"Alright do what you want. I just think you should be honest with Wren. I became a mother, and it was the best day of my life." Kira says.
"I know, but I'm not you Kira." I say.
"I never said you were. I was just putting that out there for you to think about." Kira says.
I just nod. We pay attention to the trial now. They were figuring out what to do. I looked around at everyone in the trial. They were all important people and we were all gathered in one spot.
I immediately became on high alert. We didn't have any news about an attack on this place, but you could never be too careful. I gazed around at everyone my eyes alert for something unusual.
"Lincoln." I whisper.
"What?" Lincoln asks.
"Does something seem off to you?" I ask.
Lincoln tensed and immediately went on guard. He went over to Kira and pulled her to him. Mia even seemed alert. I moved to the front of the seat and looked for Efren. I found him.
He was looking at me and nodded. My eyes drifted to Theo. He was tense also.
"Lincoln, get Kira and leave. Somethings going to happen." I say.
"What about you?" Lincoln asks.
"I have to try and alert people. I hope you don't mind, but most people won't listen to you." I say.
"Fair enough." Lincoln says, then him and Kira leave.
"Mia, warn people." I say.
Mia nods, then heads out. I follow her, then race to my booth I had been at. I place my palm on the scanner. The door opens and I race in. I head over to Efren and whisper in his ear.
"Somethings wrong. We need to warn people to get out." I say.
Efren nods. He grabs Helaina's hand. Theo came over to me. I grabbed Wren's hand.
"What's going on?" Wren asks.
"Somethings wrong we need to leave now. Warn people to get out." I say.
Theo nods, then heads out. Wren stands up and looks down at the trial.
"Something is definitely wrong." Wren says.
"What?" I ask, then race to Wren linking my arm through his.
He pointed down at the people holding the trial. They were not moving. I then saw some people in the shadows I had dealt with before. They specialized in dangerous and giant bombs. I started bunching the skirt of my dress up.
"Skye, what are you doing?" Wren demanded.
"I know those people down there, plus I have to make a scene to get people to pay attention." I say.
"I'm going with you." Wren says.
"Wren, it's a long fall." I say.
"Then you better make sure I'm safe." Wren says. "I'm not letting you do this alone." Wren says.
I sigh this was wasting time. I grab Wren's hand, then pull him towards me. I sigh, then jump off the platform towards the floor.
