I was currently in Grace's house she was choosing an outfit for me so that I could meet mother face to face alone. I was a little nervous. Grace had told me to take a bath and use certain body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. I also had to use a certain bath salt. When I finished I dried off then headed into Grace's room where she had a dress laid out for me on her bed.
I carefully changed and when I finished I looked in the mirror. The dress was beautiful and it looked stunning. It was a white sleeveless dress. It had a simple shape and a belt of diamonds wrapped around my waist. What shocked me the most from looking in the mirror was myself.
I had lost weight and dark circles were under my eyes. I looked gaunt and like I was wasting away. My crystal sat proudly on my chest pulsing with power. Grace came in and I quickly looked away from the mirror.
"Good you're changed. Now we just have to do your hair," Grace says.
I nod. She starts putting my hair up in an elegant doo. She managed to braid flowers into it and scatter gems throughout it.
"Thank you," I say.
Grace nods.
"I'm going to get your shoes and then you'll be ready to meet with mother," Grace says.
I nod. Grace scurried away. When she came back in she had sandals with jewels scattered on them. I slipped them on, then stood up.
"Good. Mother's expecting you. You may head to her now," Grace says.
"Thank you Grace," I say.
Grace nods. I head out. Felicity would be staying with Grace while I did this. She acknowledged me before I left. I headed outside and people stopped to look at me.
They knew what was happening. I lowered my head and rushed to where mother was expecting me. When I found it I headed in. The building was grand. Every detail was intricate from the ceiling to the floor.
Carvings decorated the pillars and walls. I saw mother at the end of the hall she sat behind a fire pit. I walked towards her.
"Welcome Skye. You look lovely," Mother says.
"Thank you," I say.
"Please sit," Mother says.
I do. She offers me some tea. I thank her, then take a sip. I was almost like every nerve had been lit on fire and my brain was running quickly, my heart was beating erratically.
"Sorry about that but you must take the tea to reach where we need to go," Mother says.
"And where's that?" I ask.
"Spiritual plane of the sisters," Mother says.
I just nod.
"Now here we can talk freely," Mother says.
I nod.
"I sent the distress signal because Big Brother is using everything they can to reach my children and our way of life. They want our Magicks for themselves and that is something they cannot have," Mother says.
I nod. Big Brother having their hands on this type of power would not be good.
"I asked for a crystal-user because you guys are the only other people who know about the type of power we have," Mother says.
I nod.
"Of course I'll help," I say.
Mother looked at me puzzled.
"What?" I ask.
"Usually people want something in return for their services," Mother says.
I shake my head.
"There's no need to reward me for helping people who need help," I say.
Mother stands up and walks towards me.
"Hold out your hands Skye," Mother says.
I do. She gently takes them in hers.
"May I have permission to enter your mind?" Mother asks.
"Yes," I say softly.
"If there is anything you don't want me to see imagine a closed door in front of it I won't look," Mother says.
"Okay," I say.
I take a deep breath then I see memories racing past and I feel I see memories racing past and I feel like I am running past them. All of a sudden it stops and I'm standing in a ballroom mother beside me.
"Where are we?" I ask.
"It's your memory shouldn't you know?" Mother asks.
"I don't remember this," I say softly.
Mother looks around and she seems too tense.
"It's because it's not yours. This is one of mine," Mother says.
"I don't understand," I say.
"You're looking into my memories," Mother says.
"I'm sorry I didn't know I was looking into your memories. It's something crystal-users can do but usually we really have to concentrate on it," I say.
Mother holds up her hand.
"Don't apologize for your powers. The spirits work in mysterious ways. Maybe there's something in my past that you'll need for your future," Mother says.
I nod.
"What memory is this?" I ask.
"It's an incredibly old one. It's where the sisters of Selene got their power," Mother says.
I stutter.
"But that's millions of years ago," I say.
"I'm much older than people think," Mother says.
I nod. I was incredibly amazed, but I needed to pay attention. I looked around and saw something. It was a person wearing a crystal. I gasped and then noticed lots of people wearing a crystal.
This was before Big Brother started hunting crystal-users down and forcing them into hiding.
