Chapter 46: Catching Up

I stood in the cockpit of another ship I was waiting for Lincoln and Kira. They were both doing something right now, but they were on their way. Felicity was with me, and she was keeping an eye on Eva who was asleep right now. I saw Kira enter the cockpit and about gasped she was wearing a simple dress that went to the floor and had a deep v neckline, and spaghetti straps. She opened her arms when she saw me. I grinned when I saw her.

"I'm glad you're back, I missed you," Kira says and hugs me.

I giggle, then hug her back. When she pulled away from me she held me at an arm's length and looked me up and down.

"Something is different about you. What is it?" Eva asks.

Before she could answer Lincoln entered the cockpit.

"Skye, hey," He says, and comes over to me and gives me a quick hug.

I hug him back.

"What happened to you?" He asks smiling.

"Do you guys know about the mission that Efren sent me on?" I ask.

"Yeah, it was the one where the people would only allow a female with a crystal," Kira says.

"Yeah, it was to a planet called Selene. Do you guys know about the sisters of Selene?" I ask.

Kira shook her head, but Lincoln gasped.

"They're real? I always wanted to meet them, but I'm a guy," Lincoln says.

I smile.

"Yes, they're real. I probably can't tell you a lot of the stuff, because they're very protective about their culture. But I can tell you that they were able to do something to heal me. I'm healthy now, and Felicity has monitored me saying that the Crystal force is still using me as a vessel, but it is no longer killing me," I say.

Kira gasped, then hugged me and squeezed tighter than she had in a while.

"Yay!" She says then pulls away.

"That's why you look different?" She asks.

I nod.

"Congratulations!" She says.

Lincoln gave me a slight smile.

"I'm glad you're okay. I really don't want to have to find a new hand especially when the title suits you really well," Lincoln says.

I smile.

"Do you know where we're going right now?" Kira asks.

"While I was on Selene I found another Helrifian whose ship crashed, and we're taking a quick detour to bring her to the planet she was actually meant to be going to. At least, Efren, Theo, and I are. Helaina, Lars, Dagur, and Loki are still leading the fleet to our new planet," I say.

Kira nods.

"Has Efren told you anything about Dyads?" Kira asks.

"No, but I've heard that word before. It was in one of Mother's visions," I say.

"Mother?" Kira asks.

"Oh, the Sisters of Selene are a Matriarchal society, they have a head who is the most powerful, and they call her mother. I had to call her mother too, because she doesn't go by any other names, especially to people who are not a part of her group," I say.

Kira nods.

"No, Efren hasn't told me anything about dyads. Why?" I ask.

"Well we figured some things out while you were gone, and I really think he should be the one to tell you," Kira says.

I nod.

"Okay?"

I looked at Eva who was sleeping soundly. She had grown in those past few weeks I hadn't seen her, not by a lot, but she had grown. I looked out and saw that the Spector was leaving the main ship.

"I guess we're taking a trip before we take a detour," I say.

Right as I said that my com link beeped. I walked away so it wouldn't wake Eva then I answered it.

"Skye?" Efren's voice crackled over the com link.

"Yeah? What are you guys doing? I just saw the Spector leaving the main ship. What's going on?" I ask.

We need you to come with us, we had to leave before we lost the signal, we're waiting for you right now," Efren says.

"Alright, I'll be there," I say.

I thank Lincoln and Kira then tell them I had to leave. They nod. I head out the door, making sure my jetpack was working and I was completely covered, then I head out. I use the jet pack to steer myself towards where the Spector was waiting. they opened the back doors for me and then I land and they close the door, in the ship I take off my coverings and then go to the cockpit.

"What are we doing?" I ask.

"Helaina asked us to check out that planet down there," Efren says.

"Why?" I ask.

"She said she had some intuition that told her we needed to check this planet out," Efren says.

"Okay," I say.

Efren continues piloting the ship towards the planet's surface. Just by looking at it, I could tell that it was a desert planet. There was only sand.

"This will be fun," I sigh.
