Chapter 47

"Are you just playing with me, Devereaux? Is this your revenge on me?" I asked as I looked at him directly in the eye.

Just as I want to laugh with my nonsense accusation, a tear fell down my cheek and I didn't bother to wipe it anymore. I want to let him see how this is hurting me and how serious I am with this conversation.

This is not a game to me, all I wanted is to win his heart.

He looked at me skeptically and lightly shook his head.

"I can ask you the same thing, Serenity."

Lalo lang tuloy akong naguluhan, hindi kami nagkakaintindihan at parang may pinupunto rin siya na hindi ko naman alam.

"What are you talking about? I don't understand." Naguguluhan kong sabi.

He snickered, abrubtly stood up from the sofa, and started walking to the direction of my room.

"Devereaux!" I called.

I followed him inside my room and saw him going around searching for something I'm not sure about.

"Where is he?" He asked still busy looking around.

"He who?"

He didn't answer kaya ako na ang lumapit sa kanya saka hinila ang kanyang braso paharap sa akin.

"Devereaux, what are doing?!"

His face is red as he whirled to face me. I know he is getting mad but I'm confused as to why this becomes about me.

"Are you trying to reciprocate this? Are you looking for an evidence to turn this on me?" I frustratingly asked.

"Be honest with me." Malumanay niyang sabi. "I promise I won't get mad and I'll try to understand why you hid him from me all these years." He held both my arm and looked at me with pleading eyes. "Please, Serenity."

Umiling ako sa kanya. "I'm not hiding him from you. Luke is-"

He removed his hold on me and grabbed the nearest thing he can and threw it out on the door that made me gasp in shock. Luckily it's just a pillow but still, it's unnecessary to just throw things around. And if he will try to throw anything in here again, he will be the next one I am going to throw out.

"Fucking Luke!" He cursed. "Is he the father?!" Galit niyang baling sa akin.

"What??" Gulat kong tanong.

I heard him loud and clear but it's not seeping right into my brain. Parang gumagawa lang siya ng bagay na ikakagalit niya sa akin para may rason siya upang makipaghiwalay. I know that he already knows what I wanted to ask him kaya hinahanapan niya rin ako ng butas. He wants to have the last say, ginagantihan nga niya ako. Iiwan niya rin ako pagkatapos niya akong makuha.

"We had sex without protection. I got you pregnant, didn't I? O, nagpagalaw ka rin sa lalaking iyon?"

Dumapo ang kamay ko sa kanyang pisngi pagkatapos ng kanyang huling salita. I can't believe he would think of me that way. Hindi ko inaasahan na sa kanya ko pa maririnig iyon, I thought he is different.

"How dare you! You were the one who got other woman pregnant!" Singhal ko.

Ibinalik niya sa akin ang mga mata niyang umaalab sa galit. I believe my eyes are reflecting the same fire he is showing me right now, and if he thinks that he can turn this upside down, he's wrong. I'm not afraid of his accusations, siya dapat ang magtago dahil sa galit ko ay baka masunog silang pareho.

I love him pero hindi ko kayang palampasin ang ginawa niya. Mabuti ng nalaman ko kaagad kaysa sa tumagal pa ang laro na ginagawa niya. At kung ano man ang premyo at the end of the line, ayoko ng malaman. I'll stop the race and escape while I'm still alive.
