Part 2 for It was a stupid dare
{General POV}
Set three days after the breakup
"Come one Betty get up" Alice said pulling the covers off of her daughter who had her headphones in. "Betty" She pulled her headphones out of her ears, which caused Betty to groan loudly. "Get up, you're going to school"
"No" Betty argued "I can't see him"
"Betty there is three weeks left until graduation, then you, Veronica, and Kevin are leaving for New York. You can handle that right" Alice sat down on her bed with Betty laying down with her back towards her, Alice started to gently rub her back "What happened.... between you and Jughead?"
"I don't want to talk about it" Betty shook her head and wiped her tears
"Please Betty" Alice pleaded for her to tell her the truth "I want to know how to help you, and based on the fact that Kevin and Veronica spent the whole weekend here, it must be bad"
Betty sat up facing her, "He lied to me, turns out I was just a dare." She paused a little "I really thought he was different, what did I do to make him hate me so much?"
"Sweetheart, you didn't do anything. He's an idiot, he doesn't deserve you" Alice comforted "But just because he screwed up his life by letting you go, it doesn't mean you should screw your life up by not going to school, so get ready"
Betty groaned but complied. Just three more weeks and she was finally out of this town.

"You sick son of a bitch" Veronica said slapping Jughead as he walked into the Blue and Gold room
"Oww, Veronica what the hell" Jughead whined rubbing his face where Veronica had slapped him
"How could you do that to her" Veronica yelled "She's your best friend. I never thought you would just use her like that. Now she can't stop crying over you because she loves you and you hurt her"
"I wasn't using her. I love her too" Jughead argued back "I want to explain it to her but she doesn't answer my calls or texts"
"Yeah, she's heartbroken" Veronica said like it was the most obvious thing in the world
The door opened causing both of them to turn around, it was Betty. She smiled at Veronica, but as soon as she saw Jughead, it faded away. "I'm going to go"
"No Betty wait" Jughead called rushing past Veronica to follow Betty
"Leave me alone" Betty kept walking. Jughead ran in front of her to stop her, "Betts please. Just let me explain" Betty scoffed "I don't want to hear it. Please just leave me alone"
"I love you" he whispered as she walked past him

Three months later, Veronica, Kevin and Betty were all settled into their new apartment in New York. Betty was still not over her breakup, Veronica and Kevin both knew that, but they didn't know how bad the pain was, even after all that time it was getting worse. Betty found an escape, every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday she would tell Veronica and Kevin she was going to a book club with a girl in her journaling class. The truth is she would go to central park and cry about Jughead. Eventually, both her friends found out about her escape plan.
"Betty you can't keep shutting us out" Kevin said sitting down next to her on the couch
"I miss him Kev. It's been almost four months and I still miss him so damn much" Betty said wiping her tears
Veronica, who was overhearing their conversation, pulled out her phone and texted Jughead
V: You're the worst, but she really needs you
J: On my way
Jughead put his phone in the pocket of his Serpent jacket, and got on his motorcycle on his way to New York

About three hours later, Jughead knocked on the apartment door, Kevin opened the door. "Veronica, we have to go" Veronica was already walking out the door, Kevin close behind her. "She's in the kitchen" and with that, they both left
Jughead walked in going towards the kitchen, he saw Betty sitting on the counter eating ice cream. "They just had to call you" She said taking another bite of her ice cream
"Are you okay" Jughead asked her
Betty shook her head, she finally decided to let him in "I miss you Juggie. I don't need to hear your explanation, I just need you
Jughead stepped towards her and engulfed her into a hug, which she gladly accepted "I love you so much Betts"
Betty smiled against his shoulder "I love you too"
