----------General  POV----------

"Come on Jug. Stop worrying about that article and come eat dinner" FP yelled from the kitchen.

"Fine but if I don't finish this article by tomorrow, Betty's going to kill me"  Jughead laughed sitting down.

FP was about to say something when Jughead's phone rang.

"Unknown number" Jughead said looking at it.

"Just answer it Jug, no need to be paranoid" FP chuckled

"Hello" Jughead answered

"Hello Jughead. This is Hal Cooper" Hal said over the phone

"Oh. Hi Mr. Cooper" Jughead said in a confused tone "Is everything ok"

"Not exactly" he hesitated a little before speaking again. "Can you meet me at Pop's in ten minutes. It's urgent"

"Umm, yeah sure. I'll be there" Jughead said even more confused than he already was.

"Thank you Jughead" He said before he hung up.

"What was that. Why are you meeting with Hal" FP asked his son

"I don't know but he said to meet him at Pop's in ten minutes, it's urgent"  Jughead answered

"Ok well you don't want your girlfriend's father angry so just go" FP said rushing him out

"Ok see you later dad" Jughead grabbed his serpent jacket and went outside getting on his motorcycle and driving to Pop's.

Hal hung up the phone and smiled. He had finally found a way to end this once and for all. He knew that Jughead was a smart boy and would never pass an opportunity this big. He got in his car and drove to Pop's.

Once Jughead got there Hal was already sitting in a booth in the corner of the diner. He walked over and sat across from him. He didn't notice Betty, that was sitting with Veronica in a booth on the other side of the diner. She was looking over and saw as he sat across from her father. She furrowed her eyebrows and continued her conversation with Veronica, still keeping an eye on them.

"Oh Jughead. Thanks for coming to meet me" Hal said as soon as Jughead sat down.

"Yeah, what's going on is everything ok" Jughead asked

"Not necessarily. I wanted to have a conversation with you about Betty" Hal said leaning back into the booth

"What about Betty" Jughead said getting concerned

"Well, you have been dating my daughter for a while now, and you guys were friends since you were little. So where do you see Betty a couple of years from now after she's done with high school" Hal asked

"Betty's a very smart girl. She's the smartest one I know. I see her going to a great college and getting a great job. She'll be happy. I think she has a very bright future ahead of her" Jughead honestly answered

"You're right. I also think my daughter has a great future. Now let me ask you another question, do you plan and staying with her through out her life, or are you just going to use her and then leave her" Hal asked leaning forward

"No. I love her" Jughead answered instantly "I would love to be with her for the rest of my life, but I can't force her to be with me that is strictly her decision"

"You see that's all I have ever wanted for my daughter. Her starting a family, I've always wished for happiness" Hal said

"Yeah I want that for her too" Jughead said leaning forward as well

"But Jughead I don't want her to do that with you" Hal said making Jughead lean back into his seat. "And I think me and you can work out a deal"

*****

"Betty" Veronica said trying to get her best friend's attention. "BETTY"

"I'm sorry what" Betty finally said

"B, what's going on are you ok" Veronica asked her

"Yeah, no yeah sorry. It's just..-" She stopped

"What is it"Veronica asked

"Why is Jughead and my dad talking" Betty said pointing in the direction in which the two men were sitting

Veronica turned around looking at them "Calm down B, Maybe your dad is just giving your boyfriend the 'dad talk'

"Yeah you're right, So anyways what were you saying about Kevin" Betty shrugged it off

*****

"I'm sorry, What kind of deal" Jughead asked Hal

"I'm willing to offer you 30 million dollars for you to be able to pay your tuition for college. Under one condition though, You break up with my daughter and you leave her alone for good" Hal smiled

"Really Mr. C. You are willing to offer me money to break your daughter's heart" Jughead scoffed "Yeah no thanks"

"Oh come on Jughead. I know you think my daughter loves you and will never leave you but if she finds someone better, which she will, then you are going to be heart broken. Might as well make some money out of it" Hal explained

"That's sick! You want me to break your daughter's heart to pay for college and save myself from the pain later on" Jughead said trying to comprehend the situation.

"Exactly, oh and if you do it in the next week. I'll even make a call to an old friend who works at a publishing company, talk to him about making that book of yours a New York time best seller"

"I love your daughter Mr. Copper and there is no amount of money in the world that I would choose over her" Jughead said getting out of the booth and exiting the diner.

Betty was having her girl talk with Veronica when she saw Jughead get up from the booth and walk out of Pop's.

"Ronnie, I'm sorry but I have to go" she said grabbing her phone and going after Jughead.

She reached him as he was getting on his motorcycle.

"Jug" she said making him turn around. His face softened as soon as he saw her "Where are you going, what's wrong, was it my dad"

He didn't say anything he just got on the motorcycle and handed her the helmet. She put it on and got on wrapping her arms tightly behind him as he drove off into the woods.

They got to the end of Sweetwater river and got of sitting near the edge.

"Whatever my father did, I'm sorry" Betty sighed "my dad's an asshole"

"He's right though. He offered me money and a phone call with a publisher to break up with you and leave you alone. Who are we kidding. We were never going to last. You're going to go off and do great things. I don't want to get in the way of that" Jughead said leaning back into a tree

"Jughead what would you risk for me" Betty asked him.

"Everything" Jughead answered walking towards her and putting his hands on her face

"Then let me love you like that" Betty said getting tears in her eyes "Please"

Jughead nodded "OK" he pulled her into a passionate kiss

Betty pulled away "How much did he offer" she whispered

"Not enough money in the world" Jughead smiled pulling her into another kiss, but he pulled away again "But you know if he would really throw in the publisher then I would have to think about it" he joked

"You're so mean" Betty laughed kissing him again.
