Part 2 for Spare Duvet
{General POV}
It's been a year since they were fighting about Jughead's job. It was getting better, up until a month ago, when the fighting started getting worse.
"Daddy" Juliet smiled running up to Jughead hugging him as he bent down to greet her
"Hey baby, what are you doing up so late. It's almost ten" Jughead asked her
"You weren't home yet, it's Saturday I don't have school tomorrow and you promised we would play with my new dolls I got for my birthday" Juliet told him pulling away from the hug.
"Ok JJ, go get them and we'll play" Jughead rushed her
Juliet ran off to her room as Jughead set his stuff down.
"You're late again" Betty said coming into the living room from the kitchen
"Look, I know you hate it when I'm late but I-" Jughead started to give an excuse
"No Jughead I hate that you don't spend time with us, Juliet has to stay up late until she can play with you. You promised you would be here more" Betty interrupted him
"Daddy come on" Juliet smiled as she walked in
Betty sighed walking up to their room. Jughead sighed watching her walk off.
Juliet and Jughead played for about an hour. Jughead looked down and saw that Juliet had fallen asleep on his lap. He smiled down at her before lifting her up and carrying her to her bed.
Jughead went to his and Betty's room and found it empty. He went to the guest bedroom and found it locked.
"Betty, you in there" he knocked
"Go away Jughead, I can't be with you right now" Betty called through the door
"Betts I'm sorry" Jughead apologized
"If you were sorry you would change your hours" Betty said as her tears began to fall "Just go away please"
Jughead sighed "I love you babe"
Betty heard it but she didn't say it back, she just cried into the pillow. Jughead felt a pain in his heart when he didn't hear her say it back.
This continued for another week.

"But you promised we would play together today" Juliet whined through the phone
"I know, I'm sorry JJ" Jughead apologized over the phone
Juliet handed the phone back to Betty and walked to her room
"Seriously Jughead, you can't even come home for our daughter" Betty said as she heard Juliet's bedroom door shut
"You know I can't leave if I don't get this paperwork done my boss will kill me" Jughead explained
"Yeah I've heard the same excuse for the past two years. Bye Jughead" Betty said before she hung up
Betty walked up to Juliet's room and opened the door. She saw Juliet sitting in her bed looking at a picture of her and Jughead together. Betty sat down next to her
"I miss him" Juliet said looking up at Betty
"I know gorgeous, I do too" Betty said taking the picture from Juliet, looking at it for a second then putting it back on Juliet's nightstand. "You can wait up for him if you want"
Juliet shook her head "There's no point, he gets here late anyways"
Betty smiled sadly at her daughter
"Can you play with me mommy" Juliet asked her
Betty nodded "I'd love to"

It was midnight when Jughead came home. He found Betty sitting down on the couch watching TV.
"Really Jughead, you working midnight shifts now" Betty scoffed looking up at him
"Is she sleeping" Jughead asked setting his stuff down
"Yeah" Betty answered "You know, I don't care if you break your promises to me about coming home early, but don't do it to Juliet"
"I'm sorry, the paperwork was too much" Jughead explained
"I don't want anymore of your excuses Jughead" Betty said raising her voice at him "She needs you here, and so do I"
"I'm sorry" Jughead said in the same tone of voice "But if you want to be able to have somewhere to live, I have to work"
"I get it Jughead" Betty yelled but then lowered her voice "but your daughter needs you with her"
Jughead didn't say anything, he just stood there looking at her.
"You know what take the couch I'm going to bed" Betty said walking upstairs
Jughead sighed going into the kitchen looking for something to eat. After eating he laid down on the couch, after what felt like hours he finally fell asleep.
"Daddy, daddy, wake up" Juliet shook him awake
Jughead's eye shot open "What's wrong baby, you ok"
"Why are you out here" Juliet asked Jughead
"Oh it's nothing babe, don't worry about it" Jughead said sitting up a little
"Don't lie daddy" Juliet said climbing onto his lap "I heard you and mommy fighting"
Jughead sighed "It's nothing ok"
Juliet yawned "come on, lets go put you to bed"
Jughead lifted her up and carried her to her room "Goodnight JJ"
"Goodnight daddy" Juliet smiled closing her eyes.
Jughead walked out and laid down on the couch again.
"Juggie" Betty said walking into the living room
Jughead recognized her tone of voice, it sounded like she was crying. Jughead quickly sat up looking at her. "What's wrong Betts"
Betty, who was standing in front of him sat down on his lap and placed her head in the crook of his neck "I'm sorry Juggie"
Jughead kissed the top of her head. "It's ok babe, but I promise I'll be here more often"
"How can you know" Betty asked
"I quit my job" Jughead said
Betty raised her head looking at him "You what"
"I called my boss and told him I quit" Jughead said looking down at her "It's fine my love, I will get another job soon"
"You didn't have to Jug" Betty said leaning her head back onto his chest
"Yeah I did baby" Jughead said kissing her head once again
"I heard the conversation with you Juliet" Betty told him "I'm sorry I put you in that situation"
"No, it was both our fault" Jughead told her "come on princess lets go to bed"
Jughead lifted her up and took them both to their bedroom.
"I love you Juggie" Betty mumbled against him as they were lying down
"I love you to baby" Jughead said lightly kissing her neck.
