----------Betty's POV----------
"Hey" I started but soon stopped myself when I saw the look on his face "What's wrong was it the dance" I asked. Stupid question, I know, but I had to find out why he was suddenly so mad.
"It's everything" he said looking away " And yeah.... Why would you do that" he questioned
"I wanted to be a part of this. The Serpents, your world" I answered calmly
"Why" I could tell he was getting angry already "I'm dragging you down. I'm dragging my dad down"
"Jug he's still figuring it out, and it's going to be ok. We'll figure out what we have to do, together" I said soothingly hoping that it would calm him down.
"No Betty... no, not together" now I was starting to really get worried about him "Betty, if you stay, I don't know if I can protect you anymore. You might get- You probably will get hurt. I can't let that happen to you"
"It's not your decision to make"
"Actually" he stopped taking a step back "Yeah it is"
"How many times Jug?" I said getting closer to him "How many times are we going to push each other away?"
"Until it sticks" he said coldly "That was my dad's one chance of going straight and I wrecked it. I'm not going to destroy you too"
"Just tell me what happened Jug" I started getting teary eyes when I noticed he was starting to walk away. I pulled him back cupping his face "Jug! Tell me."
"Please" his voice cracked "Go home" he said running off back into the bar.
I stood there for a while processing what just happened before running after him. He was alone with Toni and Fangs since everyone else had already left.
"Jug, you can't do that" I said going up to him He turned around obviously surprised that I was still there. Fangs got up and left but Toni stayed there. "I'm not going to get hurt. I'm fine and as long as I'm with you I'll be safe. Something must have happened for you to say that and I'm not leaving until you tell me" I cried
"Betty I told you go home" he answered raising his voice at me"I don't want you here. Leave"
This only made me cry more. I was about to turn around and leave before Toni started to talk.
"Jughead you shut the hell up and Betty don't you dare walk out that door" she yelled. I was shocked, I looked up at Jughead and he was just as shocked as I was.
"Jughead stop being selfish. You want to protect her from Penny but pushing her away is not going to make it better. She obviously loves you and she deserves to know the truth, ok? And until I here you tell her I'm not letting either of you go"
Jughead sighed looking at her he said "Toni what the hell she did not need to know about Penny she already has a lot going on which is why I didn't want her to find out. And us not being together is the only way she's going to be safe"
"For god's sakes Jughead. You pushing her away is putting her in a more dangerous situation now you tell her or I will" she threatened.
"Jug, tell me what" I asked
He looked at me and sighed "There's this person who suckered me into delivering drugs, she said it was a one time deal. Next thing I know she tells me it's an ongoing arrangement. I tried to tell her that I would tell the truth about her delivering drugs all over Riverdale. I got up and started to leave but she mentioned you." he paused finally looking me in the eye "Betty, I love you. At that moment it was like she looked right through me. As she said all snakes have a soft underbelly, you're mine. That's why I don't want you to join the Serpents. She'll have control over you. Make you do stuff or else, she'll say. I don't want that to happen to you"
"Juggie" I said walking over to him "I love you. Yell at me, try to push me away but I'm not leaving"
Without hesitation he pulled me by my waist and gave me a long passionate kiss.
"Ummm guys, as sweet as this is. I'm still right here" Toni chuckled
We pulled away, me blushing like crazy and Jughead with a smirk on his face
"Thanks Toni" I smiled at her and she smiled back
"Now that wasn't so hard was it Jones" she laughed
"Oh shut up Toni" he chuckled pulling me closer to him
