Chapter 40:Oops.

June 19th, 1994.

“Okay kids, I’ll be home before nine tonight.” Rosie’s mom said in a rush. Rosie and I sat at the kitchen table with our homework in front of us. Rosie and I had a bigger plan than to just do homework. Rosie said it was time that we took the next step in our relationship and I agreed with her.

It was late Saturday afternoon and it there was a thunder storm outside. My mom was at home while my dad had to work. I had to ride my bike which was okay but as soon as it started raining it didn’t become okay.

“Whatever mom.” Rosie rolled her eyes at her mom.

“Are you sure you’ll be okay until them?” Ms Jones asked curiously. Rosie groaned and rolled her eyes again, she wanted her mom to leave so we can do our thing.

“Yes mother, now go, you’ll be late for work.” Rosie rushed her mom. I smiled wearily at Ms Jones as she walked out into the pouring rain. I dreaded having to go home, I’m gonna get soaked. It was a perfect day to cuddle with your girlfriend. And hopefully that’s what’s going to happen, later. Not now or any time soon since today is the day I become a man.

Rosie sat across the table watching out the window, making sure her mom was well and gone. I watched Rosie carefully with a fluttering feeling inside my stomach. Rosie’s brown eyes dashed over to me with a wide smirk.

“She’s gone.” She chanted happily. The fluttering in my stomach intensified when she came over to me happily, her warm grasp took my icy hand, her fingers intertwined with mine. I was shell shocked by the feelings her touch gave me. Her skin molded mine as she led me through the small house.

Rosie’s mom was a single mom with four kids. Last year Rosie’s two older brothers got arrested for fighting and assault on an officer while her oldest brother ran away when he was thirteen. They don’t know where he is or if he’s alive. Rosie’s dad ditched out just after she was born. I can see why Rosie is the way she is. She’s angry in general, but she’s going to end up just like her brothers if she doesn’t smarten up. I guess that’s why I like being around her, I maybe only thirteen and she’s fourteen but I can help her right? So Rosie’s mom is trying to support all that by herself.

Rosie’s small room was darkened by her curtains and the storm outside. The room was small but it held a lot. The big bed was placed in the center of the wall. A large vanity dresser was at the bottom of the bed, a small desk was put in the corner with a Dell on it. The walls were bland with a cross over the door. I’ve been in her room before but I never realized how nice it was even with the size.

Rosie smiled and sat me down on the foot of the bed. I wasn’t fighting her; I was going to let this come naturally. I closed my eyes and inhaled deeply, readying myself. This was a huge step. She went to close the bedroom door. My eyes shot open when I heard her computer making a ‘ding’ sound. Rosie ran across the room from closing the door, my gaze brought me to an IM message. My stomach sank deeply when I put two and two together. Before I knew it I was standing over her with anger boiling in my veins.

My mom told me once that when you're afraid of something, what you want more than anything else is to make it go away. You want your life back to the way it was before you found out that there was something to be afraid of. You want to build a high wall and live your old life behind it. But nothing ever stays the same. That's not your old life at all. That's your new life with a wall around it. Your choice is not about going back to the way things were. Your choice is about hiding, or about going right to the heart of the thing that scares you.

Rosie’s eyes were wide with fear and my voice felt like I raised it loudly. She had liquid glass in her eyes as she stared up at me fearfully. My heart was racing inside my chest. In the heat of the moment excitement hit me like a train. I’ve never been more attracted to her ever before. Knowing that I had to fight for her love was a little bit of a turn on. I panted heavily before the tension hooked us like magnets. I crashed my lips to hers as my hands panicked their way around her body. I felt her grab hold of some of my hair that was a turn on as well. I pulled away from her and gaped down at her panicked expression.

“Don’t you dare say you’re sorry for yelling at me.” She hissed at me in a demanding way. I smiled from the corner of my mouth cheekily. She liked it when I didn’t give her a chance? She loved me being aggressive and in charge.

Before I had time to react she pushed me down onto the bed, I landed on my back. Her small body crawled over mine sexually until her lips met mine again. I ran my hands up the back of her thighs lightly; I could feel her shiver under my touch. She pulled away from me and gripped hold of the collar of my shirt, pulling me into an upright position. Her hands ran up my shirt, ridding it up and over my head. She tossed it aside with a sensual smile. I slid my hands up the front of her navy blue polo shirt; it was tight against her skin. She winced when my hands grazed her breasts; I smiled slightly and tossed her top across the room. She straddled my hips and kissed my neck, she knows exactly where my pleasure spot is. My lips pressed my pulse kissing, biting and sucking; she marked me hers. I tipped my head back slightly. I smirked and flipped the roles; I lay between her legs as a surprised expression crossed her face.

“I like this new Jimmy.” She complimented me gracefully. I lowered my face down to hers and kissed her softly. Her lips molded mine perfectly; I pressed my tongue to her bottom lip before her lips parted and her tongue danced with mine. I felt her tug my jeans down, taking my boxer shorts with them. The next thing I knew I was completely exposed and she was too. This is it, I’m finally going to be a man.

I held Rosie in my arms as we lay there in the bed, the thunder outside was loud and the rain was louder, it might be cold and rainy outside but it’s nice and warm inside. Rosie had her head on my shoulder, I held her in my arms. The sheets were down by our hips. I smiled widely at the new feeling. I lay in the lightened room with my eyes closed.

“Jimmy,” Rosie said softly. I opened my eyes to see her looking up at me.

“Yeah?” I replied quietly.

“I love you.” She whispered up to me. My heart throbbed happily as my head reeled with joy. I smiled at her widely and kissed her forehead softly, pulling her closer to me.

“I love you too.”
