The Half-Breed

Once on a cold, blustery fall night, a boy exited the woods near a city. The woods were dark, mysterious, yet whispering to each other as the wind brushed their leaves. The full moon flustered while it looked at it's reflection in a small pond. Stars danced in a continuous circle around an everlasting fire. The animals in the woods murmured about the mysterious trespassing boy.

The streets of the city were quiet. No one ever went out on a full moon. They thought the full moon was in league with the devil. Besides, every one was asleep anyway. The boy neared the city. He had pale skin, and red eyes as if made from lava from the most disastrous valcano. His hair was as black as Night herself. Night didn't seem to like that. She caused the wind to lift the boy's hair in protest. No one DARED be more beautiful than night.

The boy wore black jeans. No shoes, no shirt. The boys bare chest resembled that of a football player. His hands were in his pockets, and a black cat stayed by his side. He chuckled as he stood in the middle of the street. The street lamps reflected the shine of the moon in the boy's eyes. The smile that crossed the boy's mouth was dark, and showed pure white teeth, but no humor.

The black cat jumped onto the boy's shoulder. The boy's face was hidden behind his bangs. He lifted his arms out and a dark aura encircled him.

"Come my children! My creatures of the night, ARISE!" he called.

Through the dark aura, came many creatures. Vampires, trolls, gremlins, werewolves, demons, all the creatures that go bump in the night. The boy's laugh was humorless and evil. The creatures broke into people's houses, torturing humans. The boy headed toward a house near the end of the street.

The house was white, with black shutters. Screams of a woman erupted from the house. The boy entered the house. A woman lay on the floor, white wings protruding through her back. Her hair was long and blond. She was bleeding from her side. Her blue eyes found the boy's red ones.

"Damn you Satan." she wheezed.

The boy crouched and met the woman's gaze. He lifted her chin to his face. He searched her eyes, but they showed no secrets, pain, or fear. He slitted his eyes at her.

"Oh, Sara-Ann. If only you had headed my warning. Where is my brother? Where is Nicolas?" the boy asked.

"I'll never tell. Go back to Hell where you belong." Sara-Ann gritted her teeth in pain and anger.

"Fine. Be that way. I'll find him myself. As for you and your half-breed child, I'll kill you." the boy said.

"Kill me. But leave Moon OUT of this!" Sara-Ann screamed.

"But alas, I cannot. As long as she is my niece, she shall be shunned. There is no place in the world for a half-breed." the boy said.

Sara-Ann's eyes turned glassy, as if a mist shaded over them. The boy let her face fall to the floor. As he stepped over her body, it faded away. He made his way upstairs, to a nursery. Bright pink walls, and all white furniture. In a corner hid a crib. It was near the window, where the wind brushed past the curtains. The boy went over to the crib.

In the crib lay a baby girl. She had curly blond hair, pale skin, and bright red eyes like the boy's. The boy paused when he saw her eyes. They were emotionless, and staring up at him. She was in a pink onesie with a crown on it that read 'Princess' over the tiara. The baby stared up at the boy. Her eyes burned a red flame. A fire separated the boy from the baby in the crib.

"Master! She has your powers and eyes!" the black cat mewed.

"Yes, I know Niomie. And on her 16th birthday, she will learn the truth about her heritage. Until then, she is cursed to be an outcast." the boy sighed.

He left. The baby, Moon was then discovered by a country couple.

She was destined for power. A power that would be unleashed on her 16th birthday. A power not even Satan could control....
