Broken Promises

  You promised me,
That we would be,
Together forever,
Do you not remember?

But you lied,
Now my hands are tied,
Thinking of what to do,
And thinking of you,

But you never cared,
The love we shared,
It was all a game,
That ended in pain,

I made a promise,
That our last kiss,
And my broken heart,
Would mean a new start,

I will heal,
And you will kneel,
A promise not to be forgotten,
Not to a person so rotten,

For I will have vengence,
You were such a hindrance,
You will pay,
Did you think I'd hide away?

You know me better,
I cried reading your letter,
You used me for a toy,
You're such a foolish boy.

I never break a promise,
But I will miss,
Our late night talks,
Our long walks,

The path you chose,
Comes to a close,
Why, did you think,
I was a broken link?

A promise fortold,
A new story unfolds,
I got you back,
With the things you lack,

Your downfall,
Made me stand tall,
An my pride,
My new stride,

I told you before,
Your games are no more,
And I live with no sympathy,
To put it simply,

I never break a promise.
