"How do you know about...about my "debts", as you call them?" she asked, still pointing the dagger at him.
"My dear child, I know everything about you." Demetri chuckled. "I know your name is Abigail Louise Montgomery, but you prefer Abbi. You are the youngest child of George and Burnedette Montgomery, after your brothers Thomas, Ezekiel and Matthew, after your sisters Martha and Cecilia. I know you were born in October on the 21st of 1877.
I know your favorite color is yellow because it reminds you of the sun, that your favorite hobby is playing violin, and your favorite food is corn because it's of the very few foods that grow in the fall. I also know that all you've ever wanted is someone to understand you, that no one in your family ever payed you attention and it has broken your heart too many times for you to forgive, but you always do."
"H-how do you know all of that?" Abigail asked shakily.
"I've been watching you. Waiting for the day to come when I could talk to you. Waiting for the day you would accept me." Demetri's voice was soft as he approached her.
"What do you mean "accept you"?" Abigail lowered the dagger as he came toward her.
"I can help you, Abigail. I can make your wishes come true. I can make your family understand. I can make your debt disappear." Demetri said. "All you have to do is one little thing." his voice was low and sweet, almost hypnotizing.
"And what's that?" Abbi asked in a whisper.
His voice was soft in her ear. "Be mine."
