Dustin-Kaito
Catrina-AineEveryone in the ballroom was starting to dance. If Kaito didn't come up with an idea soon, he and Aine were going to be found out. Thinking on his feet, he grabbed his best friend's wrist, and pulled her to him, wrapping his arm around her waist. She made a noise of surprise, but let him do it. The dark elf felt a certain heat rush to his face, but ignored it, as he spun Aine around like the rest of the men did with the women they were dancing with. This dance seemed awfully coordinated. Kaito wasn't even paying attention to his dance moves, his eyes scanning the ballroom. He still was't sure what they were looking for, but the oracle had said that when they saw it, they would know. Whatever the hell that meant. He always did hate fortune tellers. He spun Aine around in an elegant twirl, and they continued their waltz-like dance. Aine cleared her throat, and he finally looked at her.
"And what is the point of us dancing?" she asked, an eyebrow raised slightly.
"We have to fit in as much as we can." Kaito said as if that should've been obvious."And that means dancing?" Aine asked, skeptical."Could you not ask stupid questions?" Kaito frowned.
"I will when you stop pretending that you're not enjoying this." She nodded her head to the both of them. Kaito's face went hot again.
"I'm not." he said, and the blonde gave him another skeptical look. "Shut up." he hissed, and lifted her uniformly with the rest of the party goers.
"You know you can't lie to me.....which, speaking of, I didn't know you could dance! We've been friends since childhood, when the f-" she was cut off by him covering her mouth with his hand. He was looking off the sides again.
"Aine, you're gonna get us caught." he warned her, looking back at her, his eyes deadly serious. "So do us both a favor and put the shut to the up." In retaliation, Aine bit the other elf's hand. He pulled his hand away, and glared daggers at her.
"What's your deal?" she hissed angrily.
"This. Isn't. A normal ball." Kaito waltzed to the side of the room with her, and they hid behind a pillar. "Pay attention. What aren't they doing?" he nodded toward the dancers. Aine looked closely at all the patrons. What weren't they doing? She even squinted a bit before she noticed. None of the partiers were blinking. Or breathing.
