Heart beats fast
Colors and promises
How to be brave?
How can I love when I'm afraid to fall?
But watching you stand alone,
All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow.

She sat in class, thinking about him again. She wasn't even thinking about grades or what the lesson was. Her mind had been on him lately, but she didn't know why. Ever since the first day they met, he's been on her mind all the time. She couldn't focus on anything. She'd trip over her own two feet, she'd put things in the wrong places, and forget things. Why did he make her feel like this?
She heard the bell ring, and she blinked, looking at a doodle she had made when she really should've been taking notes. She smiled slightly at it. It was a sketch of the two of them, facing each other, in fancy outfits. She was in a ballgown, and he was in a tux. Their hands were together as if they were dancing. She closed her notebook and got out of her seat, headed for the door. The teacher blocked her way out. She looked at him.
"I'm worried about you, you know." he told her. She blushed.
"Wh-why?" she gulped.
"Your grades are plummeting. Your work is never done, and you doze off in class. What's up with you lately?" he asked. "Is anything wrong?"
Her face flushed. "No! Not at all! I just....I've been distracted is all." she insisted.
He didn't believe her, but didn't let it show. "Alright, but if you need help with anything, you know where to find me." he told her. She nodded and left.

I have died everyday waiting for you
Darling, don't be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more

She sat alone in lunch that day, and decided not to eat. She was too busy writing something for him.
I wanted to write to you about the note started. She paused and bit her lip, before scribbling it out. She then tried again. And again. And again. Yet nothing she wanted to say could be put in words. Someone called her name, and she looked up into one of the teachers who had been monitoring the lunch room. She blushed, not realizing the bell had rung and that the lunchroom was now empty. She quickly apologized and darted to class, trying to think of how to put her thoughts into words.

Time stands still
Beauty in all she is
I will be brave
I will not let anything take away
What's standing in front of me
Every breath
Every hour has come to this

After school, she had work. Many faces and many orders went by in a flash. Quickly, it was nearing the end of her shift. A new customer entered, and when she glanced at him, she could've sworn he looked just like him. She almost called out her crush's name, but it turned out it wasn't him. In dismay, she wandered to the counter and faked a smile like always.
"Hello, let me find you a seat." she told the customer, leading him to a table. She took his order and headed to the kitchen to get the order filled. While the chef was cooking, she bused the tables, since they had been short on staff. After that was done, she brought the food to the customer. She once again headed to the back, this time because her shift was done. She saw the customer on the way out and said very politely, "Have a nice day..."

I have died everyday waiting for you
Darling, don't be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more

He didn't appear at her house that night. Slightly upset, she sat at her kitchen table, doing homework. She ended up falling asleep trying to figure out how to do her trig work. An hour or so later, she woke up to be at the same spot. He was still not there. She sighed and decided to take a shower.
The warm water felt good, but she longed for his embrace. Not having him there was like being torn in two. Part of her died every time he was away. She missed him severely, and he probably knew it. But he was busy, and she knew it. He had other things to tend to, which meant he couldn't be there for her all the time. Lately, the only reasons she got in trouble were to see him, but he knew that, thus didn't come to rescue her.
She got out of the shower and put on some fleece pajamas. She curled up on the couch, watching TV until she fell asleep.

And all along I believed I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more

He had been busy again this week, and he couldn't see her. He tried to convince himself he didn't have feelings for her. That was a lie. He was lying to himself, and he knew it. So that day, he had watched her from a distance. Sure, it had been nearly impossible to get into her school, but he was there. She didn't know it, but he was there. He had seen her talk to her teacher, and he had seen her sit alone at lunch. He wondered why she seemed so out of it, but then again, he already knew.
He knew she liked him, but he wouldn't let on that he actually liked her back. It was a rule of his. A childish rule, but still a rule. He wanted to make sure she was the one before he actually tried anything. Of course, his friends were always pestering him about her, but he paid them no mind. If they wanted to pick on him, fine. But they'd never get the truth out of him. Never.

She came home that day, to find him sitting on her couch. She smiled at him.
"About time you showed up." she tossed her bag on the ground.
"All you had to do was wait." he shrugged, as she came over.
"I hate waiting." she said quietly, sitting on the couch and wrapping her arms around him.
"But you waited anyway." he said, not touching her, but looking at the top of her head.
"For you, I always will."
He smiled to himself. "Then wasn't it worth it?"
She didn't answer, she only buried her face in his neck. They sat like that for a few minutes, neither of them talking. Eventually, he did end up wrapping his arms around her. He kissed the top of her head.
"So, how long would you truly wait?" he asked in her ear.
"Forever, if I had to."
"Just for me?"
She looked at him then, and he saw a soft smile play across her lips. Before he could ask why she was smiling, she swooped in and kissed him, then pulled back. "Just for you, Blaine. Just for you."
"Why?"
"Because, I love you."

And all along I believed I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
