I Love You

She sat in her room, holding her teddy bear close. It was a sad day on this day, and always had been for her. Every year at this time, she'd have a silent vigil, and wore all black. It was tradition, and she never broke it. Why would she? How could she? This was the day she had lost him, the one person she held dear.
"I miss you...I really miss you..." she sobbed into her teddy bear's back.
She felt his presence, and looked up to see a ghastly figure standing in front of her. He looked how she remembered him from the last time she saw him. His hair was slicked back, his glasses were foggy from the weather, and he was wearing his favorite plaid shirt with jeans. He knelt in front of her, putting his hands on her shoulders.
"Are you ready yet?" he asked, just like he did every year.
"No." she whispered, looking him in the eyes. "I'll never be ready." she told him.
"One day you will." he kissed her forehead. "And when you are, that's when these meetings will stop." he said, standing up, looking down at her.
"....maybe I don't want them to stop..." she mumbled.
"You have to let go, hun. And you know it." he said firmly.
"Not yet." she said, and he sighed.
"I'll always be here with you." he whispered, before hugging her and disappearing.
She choked out another sob when he left.
"I love...why did you leave so soon?" she asked, before burying her face in her pillows. "....H-Happy Valentine's Day, Daddy..."
