A Princess and a Peasant

  A princess and a peasant,
Both very distant,
Not saying a word,
A king losing his nerve,

Slowly war comes,
An army of great sums,
Who will win,
Who will die in sin?

Forever in chains,
An eternal flame,
Her tears,
Mixed with his fears,

Darkness and shadows,
The greatest foe,
Is the king,
Reduced to nothing,

Death is in the air,
This grief they share,
But love is strength,
Pain awaits,

She sadly weeps,
Vigil keeps,
The forgotten throne,
She sits alone,

A dark tale,
You can still hear her wail,
As they run away,
Their story is here to stay.
