"By Her"

I was walking down the corridor
On my right are closed doors
On my left are gray stained pavements

It's already past 5 in the afternoon
Students are starting to go home
But there was one left alone

She was sitting on the wooded bench
On her uniform are stained red something
She was quiet, but silently crying

It started to rain
And when I passed by her
She looks in deep pain

"Miss are you okay?"
I ask standing beside her
"I am kuya, thanks"

"Why are you crying?"
I asked again still by her side
She just looked and me smiling

She returned her stare at the field
Still crying, I guess she can't help
But cry and cry with the emotions she built

I remained by her side
Picking something from my pocket
I held it to her, hoping it will help subside

She accepted the hanker I offered
She wiped her cheeks by the stains of her tears
"Thank you" she whispered

It was monday in the morning
I passed by the corridor where I saw the girl
The bench was empty, no sign of a girl crying

There was a group of students
Walking towards my direction
They approached me with random scents

"This is for you kuya" one said handing a letter
They left but I didn't bother to look
I was busy staring at the letter with a blue cover

I read the content of the letter
From there I new
She died out of despair and failure
