3. Gastina - The decision

Author's Note: Hi, girls! Today you can read about Nina and Gastón, who will decide (or not) to have a baby. Thank you so much for reads and votes, I am happy that you're enjoying these pregnancy series. Today's chapter is a little bit different, it includes a flashback. I hope you'll like it:)

-----8 years and 7 months after the end of season 3-----

Gastón woke up by the feeling that nobody is lying next to him. He whispered softly. "Nina, why can't you fall asleep?" No response. 

Gastón started searching through the sheets to find that Nina was missing. He glanced over at the clock. It was 1:09 a.m. He was really tired, but he finally compeled himself to get out of the bed and look for Nina.

Gastón walked down the staircase that led to the living room and noticed a light that was coming out of the bathroom.

When he knocked on the door and opened them, he found Nina sitting on the bathtub with something in her hands. She was looking very waitingly at it. 

Gastón spoke up. "Nina? What are you doing here? And why aren't you sleeping, darling?"

Nina lifted her head sadly. "Gastón, I'm very sorry that I woke you up. You had a tiring day at work and I was just not carefu-" He interrupted her speach with a slight smile on his lips. "Nina, you don't have to apologize. You know that I can't sleep when you are not next to me." Nina smiled.

Gastón continued, when he joined her on the bathtub. "Will you tell me, what's that urgent that you can't sleep?" Nina looked him in the eyes and hesitated for a while. She didn't want to make him believe in something, when she wasn't sure that it was actually true. But Gastón was smart.

Before she could react, he asked. "Is that a pregnancy test that you're holding?" Nina nodded. "Yes. I wanted to take one, because I wasn't feeling good for the past week and I woke up at 1 a.m. and couldn't sleep." Gastón brightened up. "And? What does it say?"

Nina smiled. "We have to wait another minute." Gastón stated. "I can't wait for that long. And if it isn't positive now, I'll go to the doctor." Nina widened her eyes. "Why are you saying this?" 

Gastón sighed. "Because we're trying at least 7 months now and still it's not positive. Something has to be wrong with me." He sounded desperate. Nina hugged him from behind and said. "We have to be patient, these things take longer. Besides, something wrong can be with me nad not with you. Even Jim is expecting a baby and they started trying later than us." She said sadly.

Gastón carressed her cheek. "I'm sure that soon we'll have our own baby, don't worry. I love you so much, Nina." Nina smiled and said. "I love you too. It's time." 

Both of them held their breath for a second. Then Gastón whispered. "Am I seeing right? Is that a second line?" Nina nodded and looked at him with tears of happiness in her eyes. "Yes, it is. We can see it very clearly, which means that there is a 99 % reassurance."

Gastón lifted her up and exclaimed. "Oh my God, Nina, that's amazing! I'm going to be a dad! I'm so excited. I love you Nina." Nina was laughing. "I'm so so happy, Gastón! Thank you, I must have been so annoying with wanting a baby." Gastón sighed in disbelief. "You were not annoying, love. I wanted that baby as much as you did. And now we're having it. How long are you pregnant?" Nina said. "I'll go to my doctor tomorrow and we'll see for sure. But the test says that it's two weeks."

Gastón smiled and kissed her on the lips. "We have great news, but we should go back to sleep." He stated. Nina nodded. "Let's go."

---Flashback (8 years after the end of season 3)---

Gastón came home more excited than ever. "Hi, Nina." He said and leaned down to kiss his wife. "Hi, Gastón." She replied with a smile on her lips. "How was at work?" She asked while she was scooping the dinner on the plates.

Gastón smiled. "Today we had a big assembly with the supreme boss and he said that my boss is pregnant and that she'll go away in two months time." Nina squealed excitedly. "Really? That is fantastic! And what are they going to do with her job?" She observed.

Gastón chuckled. "They offered the job to me. Can you believe it?" He asked proudly and amusedly at the same time. Nina went to hug him. "Yes, I can. Congratulations, you worked so hard, you really deserve it." She was smiling like a sun. "Thank you, Nina. And what about you? Did everything go well?"

"Yes, everything as usual." Gastón nodded and asked. "And what did you do in the afternoon?" Nina smiled. "I went shopping for dinner with Luna, Jim and Yam. You can't imagine how many moms with babies we met." Gastón sounded interested in the discussion. "Really? And what are you trying to tell me with this?" Nina replied nervously. "Nothing. I just find it interesting."

Gastón stopped eating and smiled knowingly. "Don't lie to me, Nina. I know you perfectly." Nina suddenly found the floor very interesting. "Gastón, don't be mad at me, please. It's just...Iwouldlovetohaveababy." She rambled.

Gastón smiled teasingly. "What was that? I think that I didn't understand you." Nina went red in the cheeks more than a tomato. She took a deep breath and repeated. "I would love to have a baby. But if you're not ready, I can wait, it's no problem." Gastón took her hand into his.

"Nina, I wouldn't be mad at you for this. I think it is a great idea actually. I think we're ready and if you want a baby, we'll have a baby." Nina stood up and hugged him tightly. "Thank you, Gastón. You're the best." Gastón smiled. "For nothing, Nina. I want to see you happy. And I would like to become a father, because when I look at Matteo I get a feeling that I'm missing something." Nina smiled. "Exactly the same happens to me with Luna. So we'll try for a baby?" She asked hopingly. Gastón kissed her forehead. "Yes. We'll try for a baby. Tonight."
