-----8 years and 8 months after the end of season 3-----
Jim woke up in sun-lighted bedroom. She glanced over at the clock and realized that it was already 9:25 in the morning. She had to stand up once in the night, because her and Nico's baby didn't like what she ate for dinner. Jim smiled and slowly got up from the bed.
When she opened the door that led to the living room, she could smell a nice scent of bacon with eggs. She smiled and tiptoed to Nico, who was standing at the kitchen range. "Good morning, Nico." He immediately turned around. "Hi, darling. It's a shame that you're awake, I wanted to take you the breakfast into bed." Jim's face lit up with an loving smile. "Oh, thank you, Nico. It's lovely." He smiled and asked. "How are you feeling today?"
Jim winked. "I'm fine. But I'm terribly hungry." She admitted a little ashamed. Nico carressed her cheek. "Don't feel ashamed because of that. I know that you and our little one are hungry, that's why I prepared you this delicious breakfast." Jim smiled at him and pulled him close. Their lips met.
When they pulled away, she said. "Thank you, Nico. It makes me happy that you're always with me. I feel safe when you do things like that. I love you." Nico smiled. "I love you too. And I'm going to do literally everything to help you go through this, darling. By the way, what time is the second ultrasound at again?"
Jim sat herself onto the chair in the kitchen. "At 2:15 p.m. I'm four months along now, do you think that they will tell us the gender?" She asked curiously. Nico nodded, smiling slightly. "I think so." He handed her bread and the bacon and sat opposite her. Then he continued. "What gender you think our baby is?"
Jim smiled. "I don't really know. But I'll be happy for both in case they're healthy." Nico nodded. "Yes, me too, of course. But I just always wished a girl for the first child." That caught Jim's attention. "Really? You never told me before. But yeah, a girl would be nice." She agreed with him. Nico smiled. "Either way, I'm going to love them the same." Jim laughed. "That's for sure."
Jim ate her breakfast with only one hand, because the other was placed over her now visibly bigger baby bump. Nico smiled when he saw his wife like that. Jim also looked at the belly and said. "Hello, little one. How have you been all night? Does this delicious breakfast that daddy has prepared for us taste good?" She smiled. "I get that as a yes. Today we're going to the doctor again, they will show you to us again. Remember the last time? I can't wait to see you again, darling. And daddy is so excited that he couldn't even sleep at night." She smiled and noticed a little tint of blush on Nico's cheeks.
He asked. "How do you know?" Jim chuckled. "I really had to go to the bathroom in the night and I noticed that you're not asleep." Nico sighed. "I'm sorry, Jim. I thought that I was quiet." Jim started laughing. "That's it, Nico. You were so quiet that it seemed oddly. Because normally you sleep and breath very loudly, and yesterday you weren't." Nico started to defend himself. "Come on, Jim. Don't act like I am being some loud elephant when I'm asleep."
Jim took his hand into hers and said with a smile. "Sometimes you sleep loudly as an elephant, but that can't change the thing that I love you so much." He smiled. "I love you too. And you were right, I couldn't sleep because of excitement, but I'm also a little bit worried about the baby's health." He admitted.
Jim took a deep breath. "Yes, I know. But the worst diseases they said that our baby doesn't have and today we'll see the results of another bloodtests and then, if it's good, the baby should be healthy." Nico said. "I think that our little one is healthy, but still..." Jim nodded. "Yes, I understand you. I'm a nervous wreck as well."
Nico then suggested to talk about different things. "Let's assume that our baby is healthy. We should pick out some names." Jim immediately lit up. "Yes! I always loved the name Elena and Lía for a girl, and for a boy Marco and Liam." She stated, then asked. "What about you?"
Nico thought about it for a while. "I always loved names Iris or Isabella for a girl and Ian or Samuel for a boy." Jim sighed and stated. "That's going to be very difficult to choose a name that we both would like." Nico assured her. "I think it's not going to be that big problem, Jim. We have another five months." Jim responded. "Luckily."
---Few hours later---
Nico and Jim were waiting in the waiting room of Jim doctor's office. Suddenly, they heard a call. "Mrs. Jimena Navarro!"
Jim got used to her new surname very quickly. She stood up quickly, but didn't go anywhere. Nico asked surprisedly. "Jim, hurry up! What are you waiting for?" She replied nervously. "Take my hand, Nico or else I can't simmer down and I'm going to run away." The fear and panic were almost touchable in her voice and eyes. Nico smiled and took her hand. "I'm with you. Let's go, we're gonna face it together, as always." Jim smiled nervously. "Thank you, Nico." He smiled. "For nothing, darling."
They walked into the office hand in hand. The doctor greeted them. "Hello, Mrs. and Mr. Navarro! So, how's it going? Everything all right?" Jim nodded and smiled. "Yes. Tonight I threw up, but my morning sickness wasn't bad, it lasted just two days and now it's been over almost six weeks. And I'm terribly hungry as always." Jim laughed. The doctor nodded and said. "That's a typical sign of pregnancy and it looks like it is your most visible symptom. I have the results of your bloodtests that we took a week ago."
Nico asked impatiently. "And what does it say, may I ask?" The doctor smiled. "You don't have to worry, Mr. Navarro, your wife and baby are healthy. Your baby is doing great and is very healthy." Both Nico and Jim sighed in relief.
The doctor continued. "So, we are going to look at your baby with an ultrasound, shall we?" Jim nodded excitedly. "Yes, sure." She took off her shirt and that revealed her growing baby bump.
Jim and Nico looked at the screen waitingly. Soon, a silhouette of their baby popped up on the screen. Nico smiled and stated in awe. "The baby is so small and tiny." Jim laughed. "Yeah."
The doctor said. "You can see that your baby has grown up since last time. Do you want to know the gender or do you want to keep it a secret?" Jim looked at Nico questioningly. "I feel that I can't wait another five months." She said. Nico smiled and nodded. "Yes, please. Tell us, we're really curious."
The doctor nodded with a smile. "So, I can tell you with 98 % assurance that you're expecting a healthy baby girl."
Nico whispered amusedly. "A girl." Jim looked at him with eyes full of love. "Thank you so much. So we're having a girl. I'm so happy!" Nico smiled. "Me too." And kissed her cheek lovingly.
The doctor had printed them a picture of their baby and Nico with Jim exited the room. Nico turned to Jim and smiled satisfiedly. "We're expecting a girl. Jim, can you believe it?" Jim laughed. "Yes, I can. I'm glad that we're having a girl. You see? You wanted a girl and you'll have her." Nico laughed. "I'm incredibly happy that it's a girl and healthy as well." Jim nodded. "Exactly."
Nico then got on his knees in front of Jim and told the baby. "Hello, my princess. I'm so happy that we have you. I'm going to love you and protect you from all bad things that could threaten you."
When he looked up to Jim, she was wiping away the tears of happines out of her eyes.
