7. Pelfi - One more time

-----9 years after the end of season 3-----

Delfi and Pedro were both very unhappy. Two years passed from the day when they made a decision to try for a baby. Delfi was at home watching some telenovela where the main protagonist was pregnant. Suddenly, Delfi started crying. 

She wanted a baby so desperately and Pedro as well. He was now 32 and Delfi 28. They went to the special doctor six months ago, because they wanted to find out, if the are both okay. The results were more than pleasing, but they have tried since then eight times and still the baby wasn't on its way.

Delfi had to turn the TV off. She was feeling completely blue and she knew that Pedro won't come home for at least two hours since he's been busy with Roller Band lately. She knew that there's no point in sitting at home and watching the TV and getting all frustrated and emotional because of the baby that she truly wanted.

Delfi was considering her options and then figured out that she can't stay on her own because she would be totally devastated. Jazmín wasn't very understanding with this problem, because she wanted to focus on her career and she wasn't feeling old enough for a baby. Ámbar was scared of having kids, so she wasn't a good choice. Jim was busy with looking after her and Nico's baby. Nina was pregnant with her and Gastón's baby, Yam was on tour. The only left was Luna, who had already two children, but was always here for everyone to cheer them up. And all of a sudden it clicked in Delfi's head that she need that.

Delfi stood up and headed to the Balsanos' mansion. She knocked on the door and waited. The door noisily swung open and Luna was standing in the door frame. She was smiling widely. "Hi, Delfi! Come in!" Then Luna's smile faded when she noticed Delfi's teary face. "Oh, what happened? It will be okay. Shh." She quickly hugged her and lead her to the living room.

Luna said. "What about this: I'll make us a cup of tea and you'll tell me what's wrong, okay?" Delfi sobbed. "Thank you." 

In that moment Matteo appeared with some news. "Luna, I can't calm down our little one." Luna smiled. "Try to change the diaper." Matteo noticed that something was wrong. "Okay, I'll do that. Delfi, are you alright? I'll leave the two of you alone." Luna smiled approvingly. "Thank you, Daddy Fresa." Matteo laughed and winked at her.

Luna gave Delfi a cup of tea. "So, what happened?" She asked. Delfi was about to respond, when Matteo walked in. "You were right. It was the diaper." He kissed Luna on the forehead. Then he turned to Delfi. "Is it okay, if I stay?" Delfi nodded. "Yes, sure. Actually, a man's point of view would be helpful." 

Delfi told them everything. Like they are trying and still nothing. That she is nervous and sad. "And I really don't want to see Pedro suffering. The results are good, but we still haven't a baby." She finished. At the end of her monologue, her voice cracked.

Luna went to hug her. "Oh, Delfi, I'm so sorry. It's going to be fine, just don't lose hope." Delfi replied. "I lost it already." 

Matteo then spoke up. "Have you considered artificial insemination?" Delfi just stared at him in shock. "What?" Matteo nodded and explained. "When you're trying and still you don't have a baby, you should try this. It's proven and lots of people were conceived by this and they are completely fine and normal. And usually it's very successful." 

Delfi was relieved that there is a solution. She was grateful for visiting the Balsano family because they helped her a lot as always. She was just scared of Pedro's reaction.

When Pedro came home, Delfi was already waiting for him. "Hi, honey." Pedro greeted her and placed a sweet kiss into her hair. Delfi smiled. "Hi, Pedro."

Pedro looked at her intently and stated. "Something happened. Will you tell me what?" Delfi took a deep breath.

"Pedro, I know that you're tired of me and that you're losing hope, but...I talked with Luna and Matteo today and Matteo had a great idea..." she trailed off. Pedro took her hand into his and asked. "Really? And what idea?" Delfi blushed. "Matteo suggested for us to try an artificial insemination." Pedro dropped his fork loudly. "What? And you think that it's a good idea?"

Delfi started defending herself. "I think that we don't have other options. Pedro, please. Let's try it. I really want a baby." A tear escaped out of her eye. Pedro smiled weakly. "I know, love, I know. I want one as well. Okay. Let's try it." Delfi jumped up and hugged him tightly. "Thank you!" Pedro smiled. "Anything for you, Delfi. I love you." Delfi whispered back. "I love you too."

-----2 months later-----

"Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Arias! The artificial insemination was successful and you're expecting twins. It seems that they are both healthy and aredeveloping like they should. Come to the next check up after a month. And since you're having an above standard pregnancy, you should quit your job as soon as possible."

After these words from the doctor, Pedro hugged Delfi tightly from behind. Both of them said in unison. "Thank you so much." The doctor smiled at them and replied. "You're welcome."

When they got out of the office, Pedro said. "I'm so happy that it's finally happening. And it was a good idea. If we didn't take this risk, we still wouldn't have a baby." Tears of happiness were visible in his eyes. Delfi smiled and wiped away her tears. "Thank you, Pedro that you stood by me all this horrible time. I had to be unbearable." Pedro shook his head. "Both of us were acting differently, because we were so stressed. I will always be there for the three of you." 

Delfi smiled brightly and put a hand over her stomach. "I feel so blessed that I can feel it too. Finally." Pedro put an arm around her waist and lead her to their car. He shook his head in happy disbelief. "We're having twins. Can you believe it?" Delfi laughed. "I think that after all this trying they are like reward for us." Pedro nodded satisfiedly. "Yes. They definitely are."
