5. Jico - Worth it in the end

Author's Note: Hi, girls! Here continues the story from last week, so get ready for an emotional roller coaster. ;) I hope that you'll have fun by reading it, because when I was writing it, I had fun as well. Enjoy :)

-----4 months later-----

Jim couldn't quite tell what was wrong with her, she felt different. She could in one minute laugh, in the other she was crying. It was 4 months since the day that they tried for a baby for the first time and a one week later the pregnancy test showed negative. They tried three more times, but every time the test was negative. Jim was sad about it and they stopped trying for a while.

Her and Nico went that day shopping in the shopping mall. Nico suggested to eat something. "Jim, I need a break. We're running around the shops at least two hours now. Aren't you hungry?"

Jim responded. "C'mon Nico. You would spend the whole day by eating. But when you mentioned it, I really am hungry." Nico released a small sigh of relief. "What do you want to eat? Pizza?" Jim nodded. "Yes."

When they got there, a horrible smell took control over her body. "No. Pizza no. I want chicken." She announced. Nico asked suspiciously. "Are you okay?" Jim nodded. "Yes, but that pizza smell is disgusting." Nico raised his eyebrows, but didn't comment it.

Jim turned to the shop assistant. "I would like chicken with tomatos and mozarella, please." The young man apologized. "I'm sorry, we don't have mozarella. We sold every that we had."

Jim's eyes started filling with tears. "Okay." she whispered. Then she started crying. Nico rushed over to her. "Love, it's no big deal. You can choose something else." Jim sobbed. "I wanted this." Nico sighed. "Don't act like a child, Jim. I can cook it to you at home." Jim lit up. "You can?" Nico assured her. "Of course. Try to choose something else." Jim nodded.

"So I'll take these roasted chicken nugets with vegetables salad." The shop assistant nodded and gave it to her. Jim smiled when she took the first bite. "Mhmm." she said. Nico smiled at her. "It wasn't necessary, all of this, no?" Jim saddened in that moment. "I'm sorry." Nico carressed her cheek. "It's fine."

In a few more moments, Jim was laughing and ate everything she had and then saddened again. Nico was getting worried. "What's wrong?" He asked softly. Jim blushed darkly. "I'm still hungry." She admitted quietly.

Nico glanced at her and at the plate that was few minutes ago full of food. "Jim, you ate a normal portion. Normally, you would complain that you had too much." Jim made her puppy eyes that always made Nico do everything she wanted. "Can I get a pasta?" she asked shyly. Nico gave up. "Okay." She hugged him.

When she ate the pasta, Nico interrupted her in deep thoughts. "Jim, what's up?" Jim looked at him. "I'm wondering that it's so sad that I have eaten all of this already." Nico's eyes widened. "No, Jim, don't tell me that you're still hungry." Jim shook her head. "No, I'm not." Nico was relieved.

"So, are you ready to go home?" Nico asked. Few tears rolled down her cheeks. Nico panicked. "What's wrong now?" Jim whispered. "I wanted to buy you a new shirt." Nico soothed her. "Okay, then we'll go buy it." Jim smiled. "Really?" Nico nodded. "Yes."

Then a woman with a stroller passed them. Jim had immediately turned around and said, almost crying again. "I would be so happy, if I could have our own baby." Nico put an arm around her. "Me too. But we have to be..." then he stopped talking and widened his eyes. Jim raised her eyebrows . "We have to be what, Nico?" Nico interrupted her. "Jim, when was the last time that you had your period?"

Jim blinked. "Six weeks ago. Why are you asking?" Nico's thoughts were running the speed of the light. "And we tried for a baby four weeks ago?" Jim sighed. "I have to correct you. I don't think that we were trying for a baby, it was just the last time when we didn't use protection." Nico was getting excited. "That's almost the same. Jim, I've got it."

Jim frowned. "You've got what?" Nico exclaimed happily. "I think you're pregnant." Jim shook her head. "We thought that four times already and I wasn't." Nico shook his head. "Now you really are, trust me. You eat twice more than usually. You're so emotional, more than ever. You are a very sensitive person, but now it is way more visible. Do you have a test at home?"

Jim reaponded. "Yes, I have three actually. But Nico...What if I'm not pregnant?" She asked worriedly. Nico reassured her. "You have to be, Jim. You didn't get your period two weeks now." Jim smiled and kissed him. "God, I hope that you're right." Nico answered. "Me too."

They rushed home. The whole drive it seemed like the time stopped.

When they opened the door to their house, Jim sprinted as fast as possible to the bathroom with Nico behind her back. Jim grabbed the test, read the instructions and did as she was told.

Then she announced. "Now we have to wait two minutes. It's counting." Nico sighed and put an arm around her.

After twenty seconds Nico asked. "Is it finished?" Jim laughed. "No, we have to be patient. There are still 100 seconds left." Nico groaned. "These are the longest two minutes in my whole life." Jim replied. "Don't remind me, you're not alone."

Finally, they heard a sound that announced that it's time to look at the test. Jim exchanged a look with Nico. "I'm scared. What if it's negative?" Jim asked with tears in her eyes. "I hope that not. We'll look together okay? On the count to three." Nico questioned. Jim nodded. Then they started counting together. "One, two, three." And looked at the test.

Jim started crying immediately and Nico lifted her from the ground. "Oh my God, I'm so happy! Jim, we're going to be parents!" Nico shouted happily. Jim squealed. "Finally! I'm so happy! Nico, we're having a family, our own family!" She cried.

When they calmed down a little, they shared a long and passionate kiss. Nico smiled. "I told you so." Jim replied with an shining smile. "You were right."
