-----10 years after the end of season 3-----

Simón was now 32 years old. Ámbar was 29.

Ámbar noticed that Simón is really sad lately and she started wondering what's wrong. That day they were celebrating Simón's birthday, so all of their friends came to visit. Ámbar had to smile when she saw Simón talking with the most beautiful child that has ever lived. "Will you visit us again?" Simón asked. The five year old smiled and showed dimples in the cheeks. The parents of this beautidul kid were obviously Luna and Matteo. "Yes, uncle Simón." They waved Ámbar and Simón goodbye and left.

Ámbar came to Simón, kissed him on his cheek and whispered. "Happy birthday, my love." Simón smiled. "Thank you." Ámbar observed. "What's wrong? You seem so sad lately."

Simón took a deep breath and said. "Ámbar, I know that it's hard for you and I don't want to put a pressure on you, but I am sad when I see all of our friends so happy. I mean, I wish them the best, but seeing Luna and Matteo having so much fun with their two children now, or Nico with Jim and their little one, it's horrible to see them so lucky and we don't have any children. Ámbar, please. Just try it. I know that you're scared, but you'll be perfect mother. I am sure about that." He sounded so desperate and looked so vulnerable that it caught Ámbar off guard.

Ámbar felt guilty that she couldn't give him what he truly wanted. "I know that it's hard, Simón, but try to understand me. I feel that I'm not prepared for a baby. And what if I'll be a bad mother? I never had a loving maternal figure. Sharon was cold, reserved and very intolerant. The only thing that mattered to her was she herself. And my biological mother left me and gave to adoption. I'm not sure that I can give the baby the love and attention that it needs." When she finished, she started crying. In between the sobbs she continued.

"I developed some weakness for babies inside of me lately, but I can't imagine myself suffering because of the baby. I know that it's worth it in the end, but I'm not sure that I can take care of him or her. I was used to just care about myself and now about you as well. You know me, I'm not patient enough to teach the child how to walk, speak or even eat, I'm not Luna. And it's so much responsibility, I won't handle that. Besides, when I give birth, I'm never going to look the same. I'll be fat and ugly."

Simón saw how serious it was and started feeling guilty for bringing this topic up. He took her hands into his. "Ámbar, look at me, please. Firstly, for me you will always be the most beautiful and perfect woman in the whole world. Secondly, just because your women figures in your life totally failed doesn't mean that you will repeat their mistakes. I love you, Ámbar and I know that you'll be a great mom. And thirdly, you are ready for a baby, because I can see how you look at Luna and Matteo's children. If I asked you for this big favor two years ago, you would have said no without even thinking about it."

Ámbar thought about it for a while. "Yes, I think that you're right." Simón asked with hope in his voice. "So? Is it a yes?" Ámbar smiled. "In four days I should get my period. Give me two weeks and we'll start trying, okay?"

Simón's smile was shining like the sun. He kissed her passionately. "Thank you, it means a lot to me that you finally agree. I love you." Ámbar pecked his lips. "I love you too. I still can't believe how you persuaded me." Simón just laughed.

-----8 months later-----

Ámbar was almost afraid to look at the pregnancy test, because she just didn't want to dissapoint Simón once again. They were trying for a baby constantly eight months now and Ámbar was really surprised when the first test she had ever taken showed negative. She started crying. Until that day she thought that she wasn't ready for a baby.

The last time the test was also negative. Simón was absolutely devastated and Ámbar threw the test into the wall, because she was so upset that it is negative. Maybe it was caused by the fact that Ámbar should turn 30 in two months time. She felt that her biological watch is ticking warningly.

Ámbar took that day the test as a part of her month routine. Her period was late only two days, but only a little hint made her hope for the best. She breathed in the air and slowly opened her eyes.

The test had fallen to the foor when Ámbar covered her mouth in disbelief. Tears started pouring out of her eyes. Finally. She was pregnant. But then she remebered what Delfi had told her. She said that it is better to go to the doctor and get checked. So she decided not to tell Simón yet.

-Next day-

Ámbar was waiting impatiently for her doctor to come back with the results. Finally, she showed up in the door frame. "I have great news for you, Mrs. Álvarez! Congratulations, you're two weeks pregnant." Ámbar clapped her hands happily. "Thank you so much! I'm so happy." The doctor smiled and added. "No sports from now. And I'll give you recipes for an healthier diet. Come to the check up in ten weeks." Ámbar nodded and waved goodbye. "Thank you. Bye."

When she walked out of the building, she screamed happily. "Yes!" She couldn't wait to tell Simón the news.

Ámbar was counting the days that were left to the fathers' day. Luckily, it was only 10 days, but for Ámbar it seemed like a century. She had to deny all of Simón's questions and she had to hide her smile, because she wanted to surprise him.

When that day finally arrived, Simón noticed that Ámbar is all day nervous and excited of something. He asked carefully. "Something's up?" Ámbar snapped out of her dreamy state and said. "I have a present for you."

Simón frowned in concentration. "But our anniversary is in two months time, my birthday are not any time soon and my name day had passed two months ago." He stated. Ámbar winked at him. "Oh, honey, I don't need special occasions to give you presents." Simón went pale in the face. "No, Ámbar. You can't be serious. It's my job to buy presents for you." Ámbar laughed. "Today is a special day. Just open it already. You won't be dissapointed, I promise."

She handed him a nicely packed present with pink and blue ribbon. Simón took it from her hesitantly. "Just go for it." Ámbar encouraged him. Simón smiled and shook his head. He slowly opened the box and for a while he just stared at it in disbelief.

There was one diaper and a card that said: "Happy fathers' day!" Simón opened and closed his mouth twice. Then he shook his head and his eyes started filling with tears of happiness.

He whispered. "Ámbar, is it true? Like I'm not hallucinating or something?" Ámbar said with tears of happiness in her eyes. "Yes. It's true. I got it confirmed by my doctor ten days ago."

Simón jumped up and kissed her passionately. "Thank you, Ámbar. We'll be parents! Can you believe it?" He asked happily. Ámbar laughed. "We achieved it. Thank you, Simón, I wouldn't encourage myself without you. But I need you to help me, it's going to be very difficult." Simón assured her and his eyes were full of love. He gently placed his hand over her stomach and said. "Always. I will always stand by your side and I will love you and our baby forever. I will always protect you both. I love you." Ámbar wiped her tears away. "I love you too."
