~I will be still and know you are God.~

"Come back to me." He whispered closing his eyes. Not long after, he fell asleep with her hand still in his.
...

Aaron opened his eyes and was surprised to see he wasn't in his seat neither was Sarah anywhere to be found.

He panicked.

"Sarah?!" He could barely make out anything. He couldn't identify where he was.

It was like a wilderness with hills all around with rocks scattered everywhere.

"Sarah?!" He called louder.

He heard a chuckle behind him.

He turned, only to see nothing behind him. He heard the chuckle again, this time, it resonated all around him. He turned again and saw a dark figure standing a few feet away from him.

It was somewhat dark so he couldn't make out its face. It chuckled again and took a few steps towards him.

"You're still chasing after the wind. Don't you see she'll never love you? She's too good for you." The figure said.

Those words resonated deep inside of him.

"She may not love me now but she will-" The figure laughed this time around and moved closer to him.

Aaron's eyes widened and was rendered speechless.

He was staring right into bottle-green eyes-same as his. He was staring at his doppelganger, a spitting image of himself, but it looked nothing like him.

Its green eyes were darker, wilder and it had a grin plastered on its face. Its body was shrouded in a dark mist.

"Take a long look, you are me and I am you."

"No, I'm not."

It chuckled again.

"You don't think so?" Aaron was quiet.

"Do you remember what you told her when she told you about her mother's death?" Aaron felt a pang in his chest. His heart condemned him immediately.

He remembered.

"Do you remember what you told her when she cared enough to ask about how you were doing when you had trouble sleeping?"

"Do you remember what you said when she told you all you had to do was pray and plead the blood of Jesus claiming it worked for her and it could work for you?" The guilt he felt multiplied ten-fold.

He remembered everything he'd said to her.

"You don't love her, how could you when you treated her so poorly?"

Aaron's eyes widened.

"She'll never love you, not even in an eternity to come." It continued.

"You are simply unlovable." Those words hurt him in ways nothing else ever had because he knew them all to be true.

An image of her face flashed in his head, she was smiling.

He closed his eyes.

He regretted it all, all the harsh things he'd said to her. He'd been so cruel to her when all she'd ever done was show him kindness.

Tears brimmed behind his lids.

He opened his eyes but none fell.

Before his eyes, the figure transformed into another man, a very handsome man.

He was wearing a suit.

Aaron had never seen him before, he didn't recognize him.

The man spoke and his voice was calm and soothing, it sounded beautiful even.
