Dave's pov-

I shook John awake as we passed the 'You are now entering Pennsylvania' sign. He groaned. "What?" He turned to look at me. He was glaring at me. He only did that when he was woken up by someone else and not himself. "We're in Pennsylvania." He sat up more. "Really?" I nodded. I could tell he was even more excited than he had been this morning. He was finally back in the state that he had spent that last few years of his childhood. This is where his dad was born, where he meet Rose, where he meet me, where we had our first date, where I told him that I loved him and where he said goodbye to Jade. He was back home.

"Alright we have about twenty more minutes of driving before we get to the house. Do we need a restroom break before we start driving again?" River nodded as she rubbed the sleep from her eyes.  "Alright. Ryan take your sister to the restroom. We will be out here waiting. And don't talk to strangers." Ryan nodded and pushed River out of the car. I yawned as I watched them walk into the gas station. "Do you want me to drive Dave? You look really tired." I shook my head. "I'll be fine. It's only twenty minutes away. I can make it that far." I leaned onto the hood and crossed my arms. "You know what dad will say when he sees you like that." John grabbed my hand and pulled me towards him. I wrapped my arms around him and placed my hands in the back pockets of his shorts. "Yeah, I know." I sighed. Dadbert always took care of me, like I was his own son. He cared for my well being. "Fine. I'll let you drive, but it's only because Dad will freak out about me not sleeping. Not because I'm tired or anything." John kissed my lips quickly. "Great!"

John's pov-

I knew Dave was tired. As soon as we hit the road he passed out in the passenger seat. I rolled my eyes. He couldn't hide that stuff from me. "John?" River spoke up from the back seat. "Yes?" I answered, glancing up at the rear view mirror. "Is this the place where you grew up?" I smiled. "Yes and no. I was born in Washington, along with my twin sister Jade, we grew up there. Around the time that we turned 16 our mother had passed away, we were adopted by a man who lived in Pennsylvania. And we lived there until we were old enough to move out. I moved to New York to live with Dave and Jade stayed in Pennsylvania until she was 19. I haven't been home since I was 18." I told her. "Wow! That's a long time." I nodded. "Very." My eyes flickered back to the road. Ten more mintues to go. Ten minutes until I saw the road. Ten more minutes until I saw the house. Ten more minutes until I was home.

(A/N: just for you honey bunches! Here is the story/chapter question: what will John's reaction be when he sees Dad and Jade and the house? Please send you feedback and I'll see you in the next update. Bye!)
